Bought this exact item as a factory refurb over four years ago from BuyDig, it gets used many times a day in our family and it is still going strong. I feel this thing has lasted way longer than any toaster oven we've ever had.
These are basically miniature ovens with an added toast function. I'll use mine to bake cookies/fries/sweet potatoes/etc anytime I don't want to heat up the house using the main oven, as long as everything fits. It's probably up for debate whether this is better than a microwave but it would be more comparable to an oven. I use mine all the time, and prefer it to my microwave, but nothing beats the speed of a microwave.
This is my favorite toaster oven. I use it daily for toast and also use it for other random baking or reheating tasks.

A great feature that doesn't seem to be present on many other models is that it has a separate "start toasting" button. This allows you to leave the setting knobs set. On most other models you have to turn the "toast darkness" knob to turn the unit on, thus having to set the toast darkness every time. With this one you can find the level you like and then in the morning put your bread in and push the button and it will come out the same every time. Minor thing but it's a really useful feature for me.

Why refurbished, does it mean it's used?

I own a different model Cuisinart toaster oven, and have been incredibly happy with not only the build quality, but with how evenly and consistently it toasts bread.

Is the "nonstick" interior really nonstick. Every toaster oven I've ever owned winds up being brown inside.

Note it only fits an 11" pizza, our Waring and most others usually fit 12".

If you don't mind me asking, what kinds of things does your family use it for every day? I have a cheap $10-20 convection oven but I've been debating about whether or not to get an air fryer

Yeah the insignia toaster oven I bough ended up being brown and burned inside. I've only cooked chicken wings on metal tray. The inner side walls and glass are hard to clean and remain discolored

I have had this toast for years. It works well but it seems to run a little hot and I subtract 25 degrees. So if I want to cook at 350, Ill set the toaster at 325.

How much better (or worse) than a microwave oven?
