Leaving info in case more come in stock.
$38.95 I've ordered one, then posting this. I don't have any direct experience.

Reviews of item seem about average. One of the cheaper ones after all the price increases, more importantly, in stock on not shipping direct from Asia.

I"m sure they will go fast.

i want the one i saw some medical care worker use on tv, projected the final temp on the patients forehead

40 is a bit steep not to have such a feature when non medical infrared thermometers were much cheaper before this.

I paid $10 for this one with a promotion 3 years ago:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...UTF8&psc=1 they were normally $19

I knocked it off a stool today and it broke. This $39 one is the cheapest I could find that I was reasonably assured to receive quickly.

It's a shame it went out of stock that quick.

I've not seen a temp projection one, but seems a gimmick-like and I don't see the need when the display is right in front of your eyes. Also, it seems like a violation of the privacy of the person you are taking the temp of.

It was a pandemic check point thing so perhaps it makes it easy for everyone else to see and verify the temperature reading.

Yea I had the version that used AAA's instead for easier feeding, ~$15, not sure what the difference other than perhaps better calibration. Projected reading would be useful if you took a picture or video of hardware temps...cpu...for youtube etc.
