I just bought this from BBB using their 20% coupon and used it this morning for the first time.

I paid around 86 after taxes and incl 20% BBB text coupon.

The hopper jar is plasticky and didnt like how flimsy it looked and felt. But the first espresso grind came out awesome on, extra fine minus 2 notches.

I think it's just a filler choice. Anything else that will put the price over $100 should work.

Does this also do well for other grinds course for French press? Looking at getting the baratza encore, but this is cheaper. Thoughts?

Espresso coffee needs fine grind, so this will do french press without any sweat.

I use this grinder for my OXO brewer (finer than FP, coarser than espresso) and it works great. The hopper and collector are both plastic but I have had little to no issue with static cling.

I would wait for a Baratza Encore deal, better all around grinder. Even capable of mediocre espresso. Excellent customer service and quality, easy to repair should anything go wrong. In my case of owning for 3 years, it's been perfect.

Not sure about this brand, but Don't buy Bodum brand coffee grinders, once you break the glass container they sell NO replacement, rendering the units useless

I have this grinder. It does grind fine enough for espresso.

It's been solid overall but cleaning it is rather annoying (it includes a tiny little brush). Not sure if all grinders are designed the same way but with this one, there are lots of little areas where grounds get stuck and the chute is at a weird angle so you can't just brush it all in there easily.

Do the models get better features as the model numbers go up? Is it safe to assume that they get better as they go? 560, 565, 570,575 so on and so forth?
