The price given here is for CPO Outlets (as a 3rd party vendor on Amazon's website), if you select Amazon.com as the Seller (for $189.99) instead, then there's a deal right now on select Bosch tools where you get $20.00 off your purchase (thus netting a pretax purchase price of $169.99). I tested it out in my shopping cart and it worked.
If you're just starting out with a collection of cordless tools, make sure that you select a manufacturer and a voltage that you're comfortable sticking with. To me, it's a PITA to have chargers and batteries for two or three manufacturers.

That said, I've been happy with 18 volt Bosch tools for over 10 years. All Bosch 18-volt batteries are interchangeable on any 18-volt Bosch tool, even the fat heavy duty batteries. I have five tools with four "slim" batteries and never worried about running out of power. I'm a weekend DIYer, and the tools being brushless hasn't negatively affected me at all.

This is a very good "starter set" for anyone looking to jump into the wonderful world of cordless tools.

I noticed this kit the other day after clicking through the Bosch promotion SD post.

Pretty fair price for what you get. And no, they are not brushless tools. But of particular note is that work light. Most of the flashlights/work lights included in these tool combo kits are pretty much useless and are probably included just to drive up the piece count. The light in this kit is actually a decent light. Much brighter than the usual combo kit lights in a format which is very useful. You can hold it, hang it, or put it down and easily adjust the light angles to anywhere you need 420lm of bright.

I love Bosch tools. I have sets that are 6 years old and are still running like champs. Imo Bosch shines especially in the little details. Like how the tools feel in hand and ease of hitting the fwd and reverse switches without removing your hand from the tool.

I will point out though. This set is REALLY old. Nothing wrong with that per se but this 18v set is 3 generations behind if I recall correctly, and Bosch doesn't renovate tools very often like Milwaukee does (to get an idea of age). The set after this one introduced the impact called the "Freak" which is an impact wrench and driver in one. And the latest 18v set added brushless motors.

Regardless if you need a quality and very reliable brand drill, impact, and hacksaw and don't care about too much about having an excessive amount of tool options in a single battery platform. This is an excellent deal. (On, I repeat, superb quality tools)

For a home user I'd much rather recommend the 12V set.

Amazon is selling $180 and additional $20 off, so final price is $160.

Does anyone have a sense of the resale on the driver, drill, batteries and charger? I already have a bunch of Bosch 18v stuff and just want the saw (and the light? doesn't seem like it's worth trying to resell).

I'm a very casual user of tools. Don't even want to call myself a DIYer. However, I need a drill and recip saw (latter for light tree/branch trimming) . Seems like this is good price for at least 3 items I would use (light included). Is 18v too big for casual use?

I'm thinking this would have been a better deal, but I missed out: https://slickdeals.net/f/13999754-m12-12-volt-lithium-ion-cordless-drill-driver-impact-driver-combo-kit-2-tool-w-free-m12-hackzall-reciprocating-saw-149?src=SiteSearch

As a contractor who uses Milwaukee M12 tools, the kit you linked to are tools I own, and while those are not brushless either, they are very good contractor tools that will hold up a long time. The Zawlsaw is one of my favorite recip saws made, and the impact and drill will serve your needs without issue.
For what its worth, the Milwaukee M12 line offer a lot more tools in the collection then Bosch does as well.
