But doesn't Costco have limited window AC selections?
Indeed, ABT has the same unit for $10 less. Thanks!

If you don't mind Daewoo brand, PriceRite is selling 5000BTU window air conditioners for $110. Check weekly circular.

https://www.priceritemarketplace.com/circular

My mom and I bought for grandma. It uses the same amount of power as the air conditioner on this deal post. (according to $45/y energy star rating) It does not have a digital display for particular temperature setting, just knobs. It does not have a remote. Up to you guys if those features are worth spending an extra $80.

Any chance you can do a DB test (both with the fan on LOW and also with the AC on LOW) with your smart phone on the Daewoo you bought? I have bought 2x 5000 BTU ACs (TCL and Arctic King) from Walmart in the past week and both are like jet engines on the lowest fan setting (57 and 60 DB for each before the compressor even goes on which kicks the DBs up even more). They have fancy features like a remote, Sleep mode, Timer, etc, but if the ACs are too loud then those features are irrelevant.

My local stores are out of them, but are getting them on Tuesday.

Thanks!

Got the GE AC at ABT before it sold out, so thank you! If this one is too loud, then maybe I'll consider the cheapo option of the Daewoo for $110.. I mean if they all are loud, might as get the cheapest one, but I'll pay more for quieter.

do a search for "midea u shaped" if you want super quiet. probably the quietest since it uses inverter compressor and modulates instead of on/off.

Max Power (highest setting):
Sitting in front of the A/C (1ft away): 31-37db
Away from A/C (8ft away): 24-28db

Min Power (lowest setting):
Sitting in front of the A/C (1ft away): 27-31db
Away from A/C (8ft away): 14-18db

I used this app on LG G7 Thinq:
https://play.google.com/store/app...l&hl=en_us

The fan is the same as min power.

Wow thanks for all of that helpful info; you totally rock!

Those noise levels are incredible - DAMN! Now I'm thinking I will be trying to buy this Daewoo AC (my 4th AC in 1 week) when it comes back in stock in my local Price Rite. Will compare with the GE and see which is quieter and if the extra GE features are worth the extra $70-80. Pretty sure the 2 Walmart ACs are going back...

Thanks again!Smilie

If anyone is near a Menards. They have Arctic King 5000 BTU ACs for $134 plus 11 percent rebate. They're doing 11 percent on all of their ACs. I just bought 2 Denali Aire 6000 BTU units for 189 a piece before the rebate.

Bought an Artic King 5000BTU AC at Walmart and it is the noisiest I have heard so far... 60 DB with only the fan on in the lowest setting... PASS!

Figured it might not be the best at that price. That's why we got the 6000 BTU Denali Aire ones. Cost a little bit more but worth it for the digital control, remote, and extra 1000 BTU. It's pretty quiet too. Definitely recommend if anyone is looking for a bedroom AC.

Sounds pretty good. The control panel looks the same as the 5000 BTU TCL I also bought at Walmart for $166 (https://www.walmart.com/ip/TCL-5-...ected=true) but is also on the noisy side. Glad the Denali is pretty quiet for you. Sadly, the closest Menards is 350mi away from me and shipping kills the deal at $29.

Gonna try the Daewoo at Price Rite for $110 when it comes back in stock tomorrow in Northern NJ and am waiting on the GE I bought from ABT which was delayed in shipping but hopefully will ship out tomorrow.

The Price Rite Daewoo was tempting until I found out that they don't accept returns at Price Rite (because of covid). I asked if I could plug it in before purchasing but both stores I called wouldn't allow that. Too bad... I'm sure it is good value, but too much of a gamble considering I still have the GE AHM05LY supposedly shipping today.

When I called ABT to see about possibly canceling the AHM05LY order (and just gambling on the Daewoo), CS offered me $40 back to my CC if I continued with the order! So I will end up with the AHM05LY for $138 + tax... just a delay in receiving it which paid off in the end!

Meanwhile, I installed the TCL from Walmart (got too hot in NJ) and it registers at a tolerable but not great 40DB from a foot away at the lowest AC setting. Better than the 55DB I was expecting which I recorded before window installation. Thankfully ABT and Walmart are kind enough to have a return policy so no risk in comparing both models.
