I'm using it to turn on 2 garage fans by voice so I don't have to pull them out from under a table and reach behind them to turn the knob.
the problem i find is i rarely want a multiple smart plugs next to each other, making the single outlet plugs the best buy. i like the total outlet replacements because they look better than something sticking out, but again rarely need two smart plugs next to each other. this would seem like great value, but even less likely to need 3 devices next to each other. speaking to kasa, i have many of their devices (around 20) and they work great.
I don't know about this particular device. But one thing I like TP-Link over Wemo is that TPLink will restore last power state after loss of power.

Can somebody tell me what this actually will help with? Is it for telling Alexa to turn off the lamp? Or any more advanced features aside from timing? I am curious the other uses.

Is this really a good deal?

I seem to have bought two on separate occasions over the past two years that have four outlets and four USB ports, all Smart capable, for several dollars less, maybe even below $20 each.

I know it's in the past but $28 versus around $20 is a big difference. Just saying.

From the Kasa website:

15 A 1875 W maximum load in total

Pretty decent. You can run a pretty heavy draw appliance through this. You can't run 2 or 3 of them at once, but it's probably going back to a 20 amp breaker that would have tripped anyway.

How does the TP Link compare to this item?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07TS2G...XEb212855T

I have a few of the TP Link individual smart plugs...and like them a lot, but this other item seems to be a better buy and value...even with the extra Amazon CC cash back.
