Just noticed that the TP Link Archer C4000 is on sale at Costco.

Membership required, but currently the cheapest noted price online for this router. Ratings seem to be good.

WiFi 6 (AX) is not supported on this router.

I bought it last time to replace my Asus RT68. It's very good. Very strong signals. I can connect my Rainbird WiFi controller in my backyard without using a WiFi extender. (The router is placed in my office which is close to my main door). My 5G bands are a lot faster now, up to 200GB per second. I'm happy with it so far.

Four of us working from home, Dad's office will pay for home office improvements. We pay for 200mbps (the highest with where we live from our provider). Three smart TVs, seven Google Home minis, four cell phones. This or do something with the ability to do AX?

If they are paying for home improvements, I'd get the Google Nest WiFi or the TP LINK Delco M9 set. I've heard good things about both of them. Gives you more than just one access point so you can spread it around the house.

Depends on what your needs are and if you have dead zones at your house. If you have dead zones then mesh.

Well it depends on what your needs and/or priorities are. Do you need a system that can blanket your entire house with a good connection? If so I would get a mesh system.

To those in the know...how does the wifi signal compare to Asus? I have the AX3000. What I am finding is that I lose internet about once every 7-10 days and have to reset. I also can't seem to get a signal to even a couple of rooms over on the 5G. Since only my phone can do wifi6, this matters. Frustrating. I have a second router set up as an AP but would love to not need 2 SSID.
