I had purchased the M12 FUEL drill/driver kit from them two Thanksgivings ago; about same story, a really slick deal. After ordering, they had me call their shop to verify my card info & if I still wanted the set. Shipping took a long time from Florida to Los Angeles. I do remember a lot of people's orders got canceled. I also remember their customer service wasn't too friendly, not exactly rude either. Still, I'm in for one just based off my personal experience. I'm using PayPal for this one though.

There are multitudes of blades out there for this cutoff tool. Check Amazon for 3" cutoff wheel. Fairly certain it's the same disc you would use on a die grinder. I grabbed 50 for like $18 awhile back and they work great.

Good luck actually getting it from NT though, I've had them cancel orders too many times in the past to deal with them any longer.

Was able to checkout with PayPal, but on backorder. Hopefully they don't cancel it.

Oh no... I ordered and now reading comments, this is my first order from these guys. They better not cancel this after I watch videos and get all excited to go cut all the things Frown. No local stores have this in stock either Frown.
I already have one coming from the Home Depot deal (same as this, but no $20 code). I figure, if it ships, cool I saved $20. If it doesn't, at the end of the day, I'd rather have the tool than the extra $20, and the Home Depot deal is still pretty good. Just be mindful, if you're planning to use it on wood, while it comes with an adaptor for Dremel discs that do cut wood, there is a reason Milwaukee doesn't make their own wood discs. It's good for a few cuts on hobby size pieces, but don't plan on cutting a ton of 2x4s or ripping plywood. For just about anything else it's great.

Is there a lot of overlap between what a cut off saw does and a multi tool? How would you choose if you were only going to buy one of the two?
There is a lot of overlap, but there are a few things each does better than the other. This wouldn't be good for sanding, like the sanding head on an oscillating tool. This has more precision to the depth of cuts, like plunge cuts, than an oscillating tool. This also can do more substantial metal and stone cutting than a multi-tool. This couldn't do flush cuts to cut rusted nail heads off or have a prying attachment for something like loosening vinyl flooring, which an oscillating tool is great at. Depends what you're looking for. Or wait for one of the Home Depot deals where they throw the multi-tool in with every other bare tool, and get both!!

Can this be used to cut wood with wood blades?
It *can* cut wood, but it's less than ideal. It comes with an adaptor for the Dremel SawMax, which has wood cutting blades. But, IMO, there's probably a reason Milwaukee doesn't make their own wood blades, and why they don't officially mention it's wood cutting capabilities. This seemed to me like something they would really be pushing if it where the case, so I did quite a bit of research into the discs and such. This has about the same wood cutting capabilities as an oscillating tool. It can do a few smaller cuts on more substantial sized wood, but I wouldn't rely on it for cutting multiple 2x4s or ripping 3/4" plywood. I like to respond to these questions because it was really frustrating to me how hard it was to find this information. I got the tool anyway for the other stuff it can do, but if you have a lot of wood work to do, get a circular saw or jigsaw instead.

I was curious about this tool when it first came out last year but after reading through many reviews that stated it was underpowered I skipped purchasing it. I do however see there are a few owners that posted they like it so perhaps I will take another look into purchasing this tool.

Of course. But the hard part is finding a wood saw blade that fits. 3-3/8 or 3-1/8 blade you can find all day but 3 not so easily I found one that a friend had. It's not the best to do like plywood sheet rips and semi dangerous with out the guard/ shoe. But great little tool and has saved my butt many times. It doesn't replace a full size grinder or cut off but for little stuff it's great

12 volt...don't waste your money on weak, old technology.
Obviously you never used ones. These are awesome little tools. But what is the newer 12 volt level technology since you say this is old and weak? Obviously this is not going to replace your 18 volt grinder but it has many uses and gets in places were most bigger tools can't. Plus the forward and reverse is awesome when you are in off spots. But since you think you know everything every though you never have used this tool what is the newest and greatest that you think would replace this???
