Anybody know of a high quality mask? I'd pay big money for one that was made right with the right combination of fabrics.

Just 600 count cotton and silk.

I cut a pair of cotton boxer briefs in half to make two masks. I pull a leg over my head and the stretch of the fabric is enough to hold it up. Someone asked me, where do you put the skid mark? And I said, in the back, where it came from, of course!

But yesterday was the first time I used one of these disposable face coverings. What it has over what I've been using, is a bendable strip at the top so that my glasses don't fog when I exhale. And...the disposable is lighter weight and more comfortable.

So I bought a box today, with no illusions about what it does/doesn't do. And...no skid mark!
You should have put a bra over your head and gotten Kelly Lebrock (the 1980's not the 2010s version).

You do know that any death where the person had covid was registered as a covid death. If someone died from a heart attack and also tested positive for the virus, then it would categorized as a covid death. Also, hospitals were given money for each Covid death so there was an incentive there.
I work in DHHS/Public Health for my state. I'm on the covid response /testing team alongside our epidemiologists. This is totally made up bs. There isn't this vast conspiracy from federal to local health departments trying to keep people home or out of work. Just loudmouth know nothing's spouting bs from Facebook and political talk show hosts. The numbers reported are actually lower than realty. I genuinely hope numbers stay low and this burns out and doesn't return this fall. No one knows what will happen. But wearing masks is the least invasive and effective containment.

Unfortunately, you won't know whether or not you're sick until 5-10 days after you are infectious. So in the absence of a really reliable soothsayer, wearing a mask is the responsible thing to do.
Thank you for this important message! Smilie

Jizoz. Stop with this false narrative already. There are tons of reliable sources on excess death data. Even CDC website has readily available information for folks like you:

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsr...deaths.htm

and here's an even more fool-proof graph for you showing deaths from pneumonia, flu, covid combined.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2...#mortality

Why do people buy this type of mask?

It isn't going to seal or stop particles like an n95 with proper fit, so really its just a face covering to stop your sneezes and coughs from blowing a big cloud in the air. So in that way it's exactly as good as a piece of cloth or bandana .. so.. why not just wear some cloth or bandana? They are cheap and easy to buy / make and washable & reusable .
Did you try if you can breathe with any kind of cloth? Although I don't buy this but I think it is much better than cloth and affordable for most people.

They're basically printing money at the mark-ups they're selling all these masks at. So much corruption. How much is sourced from legitimate sources to be re-sold, how much purchased over-seas or stolen. Btw, a large percent of people with C19 have no symptoms whatsoever, so you're mask isn't doing much because you take it off eventually.

Hi all,

Just a friendly reminder that our deal threads are not intended to be a place for political discussion, narrative, or debates. Keep the comments and discussion about the deal at hand and that alone... not about Covid-19 or any other topic. Those are off-topic and may be removed. Thanks!

This is a rip off. You are better off to make your own mask with cloth. This is not N95 mask.

I just use a multiclava cloth wrap, probably won't help much but it's something.

My co workers say they can breathe better in these.

They actually did a study between the n95 and regular paper mask in a hospital that was treating flu patients and its only like a couple of percent difference in infection rate.
Show the doctors and nurses that study and tell them to use paper mask when they work. See if they fall for that.
