No. Not bright enough for a coders cave.

How does this compare to Asus VG27AQ?
this is a safer bet as that one is too new to know

Probably not a true IPS display, since it's a 1Ms 165Hz display and you don't see number like that on IPS displays.
I think you're confusing IPS with HDR..

Would this monitor be worth buying if you mainly use it for photo editing? I occasionally play games too(COD), but I never monitor my frame rates. I have a gtx 2070. I play on settings based off nvidia experience.

Nice. And $50 cheaper than the LG 850 too.

hmm didn't realize the LG one regular price is $450, if that's the case, I may wait until the LG goes on sale down the road

This literally checks every box out there right now. IPS gaming monitor with Gsync is unheard of at this price range especially from a reputable retailer that excepts returns and you can get a 4 year geek squad warranty for only $40! But since Slickdeals isn't getting a huge cut from Best buy or HP for prompting this. It took a long time for this deal to blow up. Almost sold out at this point.
Luckily it looks like BB has plenty of stock. But I did find it strange that this took longer and more TU's to make it to popular than a recessed light that was $5 off.
** I removed part of my comment here. I think I may have unfairly impugned the site. But I am suspicious of some of the deals, especially by Super "Reputable" users. And perhaps the site could do more to combat for-profit promotions by 20K rep users.

Just got this monitor home and love it! I did however notice from some research (and hopefully I'm wrong) that I can't use the gysnc tech since my hp omen laptop doesn't have a display port out. I bought a HDMI to display port adapter but from what i've been seeing.. apparently that won't do the trick.

Any thoughts on if there's still a chance?

**Edit**
I did get it to work with gsync in the Nvidia control panel. Had to set the monitor to 144hz manually

Yes, of course, but if that's all you are doing then you can probably save yourself a few bucks on a cheaper IPS monitor. With this monitor, you are paying a premium for the high refresh rate that makes it prime for gaming.

How does this compare to Dell - 32" LED Curved QHD FreeSync Monitor with HDR
Model: S3220DGF at BestBuy on sale right now? I saw this and then the 32 looked like better specs even though VA.

Bought this and picked it up this morning. Have been really happy with it today.

The specs are top notch and since I've been unable to pick up an LG, this was a no brained.

Stand is high quality and way more adjustable than most stock stands, so not gonna need to get another.

Just FYI that's not "the" 850 the https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr...o_ips.html is the 27GL850-B

The one for 450.00 is the 27GN850-B

To take a quote from someone else on Reddit

Quote :
The 27GN850-B takes the Nano IPS panel from the 27GL850-B and puts it into the cheaper body of the 27GL83A.
The Omen 27 has a metal stand and is very solid, that might matter to you but the screen should be the same regardless.
