Looks like really bad reviews. Can't believe I missed the ryobi one last week.

How's this price wise versus the Ryobi deal a couple days ago?

I have this unit and suggest finding one with hose fittings other than on the bottom. The pump went bad on mine and I purchased one with front hose fittings. Much better.

No need to link your post...which is equally as bad or worse.

Hey...why though? Seems sufficient for DIY at home jobs no?

At Lowe's yesterday someone was returning this to the customer service desk and dripping oil all over the store.

I bought a similar Craftsman model last year, I had issues getting it to start after only a few months.

Newer small B&S engines typically have a plastic carburetor which is very susceptible to getting clogged. But the saving grace is that they are very easy to pop off, disassemble and clean with carb cleaner - or cheap to replace.

Just bought the SIMPSON version of this from Sam's club, exact same price, same engine. 163cc B&S 725 EXI (https://www.briggsandstratton.com...eries.html).

Have used it 4-5 times, and started it at least 15 times (not very kind to it, constantly turning it off to talk to a neighbor or go inside to do something). Fires up first pull, every time. Would've preferred the SIMPSON with a Honda from Costco, but couldn't justify the $50 extra for same output. Lawn mower uses an older version of this engine, 5 years old now and fires up every time. Only issue was me not using something to get rid of the ethanol and having to replace the fuel pickup.

If you're a sams club member, I wouldn't "jump" on this deal, as the price isn't anything amazing.

I just purchased this in Virginia with the Honda engine instead. The Birggs was on sale for $289 a week ago and the Honda wasn't on sale at all. The Honda rang up as the same price as the Briggs though. Not sure if it was a pricing error or not but it may be worth a try at your local B&M. It works very well. Take note that it does not have idle ramp down though for quieter idle time.
