Anyone who is a Six Flag's member can go to cancel their membership online. In the cancellation process you will be offered two deals to retain as a member. The first is a discount to your membership and the second is a discounted Gold Membership at half price ($3.99 per month per person). Select Covid 19 as the reason. You only get two offers so don't try for a third!!!

I signed up under Gold and there's a 12 month minimum (that I'm in the middle of), wonder how that would work if I attempt to cancel in hopes of getting this offer.

Just tried it doesn't work. You had to have been at 12 months. You can however pause your membership due to covid

I ended up doing it. My Gold Plan membership agreement had 5 months left at $8.95/month, so I was on hook for $45 anyways. This gets me 7 additional months for $3 more. Thank you OP, repped.

Same with me, We want to cancel, but we couldn't, and they continue to still charge us despite their parks are closed. Great America, they actually halt the payments until the parks are back open again.

For Six Flags they're crediting you one month for every month that the park is closed, and upgrading your pass to platinum for the rest of 2020 for not pausing your membership (it's not like you're out anything since they're giving you a free month anyways). This also combines with the $3.99/month "about to cancel" promo.

Yes, I am aware of that. But I wonder those free months... are they free months on the months that the park is open, or are they just free months per calendar... Also, we don't know how long are these park going to be closed til... But regardless, we're planning to cancel at the end of the 12 months since we're tired of Six Flags parks Lol.

They're crediting one free month for every month it's closed, so the free months won't be "used up" on closed months. If you can find any amusement park as much fun as six flags with a yearly membership less than $48 I'm very interested as well (hint: you won't, not even close).

I'm not here to debate about which amusements is fun or not. But back on topic... It makes me questions Six Flags why they didn't they just halt the "membership" payments & account until the park is open again and just resume payments like Great America, It's not like I'm paying for the season pass, which I can understand to continue making monthly payments (until season pass is paid off) and credit for the unused months after the season is over.
