Seems like a great value. Couple things to note: no touchscreen, and RAM is soldered so no upgrading down the road (although 16gb should be sufficient for a while). Also brightness is only 250 nits.

I couldn't find anything close to this price with the ram and processor. I was holding out for a AMD 4000 series processor laptop but $400 more seemed like a lot.

This is why I ordered one of the Dells from yesterday's links. Not soldered ram, brighter, better wifi and bluetooth and 2in1 with pen input.
While more expensive and a slightly smaller screen - the upgradability makes it a no brainer for our needs.

I need a laptop for heavy school work (lots of excel, word, PDFs), entertainment (streaming, internet browsing, no gaming). Basically an all around laptop for everyday use (heavy use at that). Is this the right laptop for me? Will there be better deals?

I don't do any coding, editing, or gaming.

Content depending you'll want more ram and processor power than a discrete GPU. Graphics cards really only matter for videos and gaming, not the design aspect.

I feel that the dell inspiron have a lesser value given that upgrading ram and hard drive will cost more than getting upgrading the screen to touchscreen with a higher nit
