Can these generators be run inside?
If you needed to ask this question, then there is no reason for you to ever own one.

* Never use a generator inside, even in an attached structure like a garage or barn.

* Place generators at least 15 feet from your house. Make sure you have a long enough extension cord that's in good condition.

* Point the exhaust away from your home and any windows, doors or vents.

Can these generators be run inside? I typically wouldn't ever need a generator besides power outtage that happens once every 3 years.. I'm assuming it would be a waste..?
No don't run it inside or closed environment. The exhaust is poisonous. Depends on circumstances, for me I have babies and live close to the coastal area which hurricane could affect the power line every year

How does this deal compare to the champion generator deal a few weeks back for $549 at Amazon and Walmart? Which is better?

As long as you wrap it tightly in foil thus negating any harmful exhaust compounds

Thoughts on getting a gasoline inverter generator vs a dual fuel non-inverter? Main potential use would be for PG&E inspired 3-4 day outages that are supposed to be 'normal' in the next few years here in Northern CA.

Been looking at this one.

It exists: https://www.costco.com/firman-290...81637.html

Probably not going to be on sale, though.
