Is this a REL product? Looking at the sub I can't tell. Wink
REL makes great subwoofers. The general rule goes as follows, Ported for movies, Sealed for music. Some subwoofers like those made by HSU come with port plugs so you can change the acoustics for both applications. I mainly watch movies so I went with dual PB-2000 subwoofers by SVS. Using 2 subwoofers is not necessarily for more bass, its for more even coverage of the room.

There's an Amazon review comparing the two on the 1205 Amazon page. They seemed to prefer the 1205.

Was saving for the SVS ported 12" sub PB-2000 for HT. This doesn't seem to be ported... anyone think it's worth saving some money and going with this one?

I am also interested in this comparison. Can you share a link to the Amazon review please? Thank you.

I would recommend the HSU VTF2MK5 over this. Yes it's more expensive but a 12" woofer that can get lower, can be ported or unported, I feel like you get more for your money. If you're really on a budget and don't mind getting lower than 22hz then go for it.

If you are using the sub for watching movies, go ported every single time.

If your primary listening is music, then save a few bucks and get a sealed sub.

Really, a $600 sub will be better than this one for $349?
