Any vinyl fans out there? Haven't seen a vinyl karaoke machine in ages, really cool for anyone interested during quarantine lol

Lots of quarantine fun here for families looking for something different to do this summer! Get your neighbors to get the karaoke speaker too, and then have backyard/balcony karaoke wars... This could seriously be epic if enough of your neighbors got involved!

Excellent price point too, with enough power to be heard multiple houses away.

I'm pretty sure the karaoke machine isn't a turntable as well.

Ah, you're right haha. I saw the pictures and thought "dang that's cool!"

Weird they put these all in the same post, lol.

From what I can tell, the $10 difference between the two turntables buys you:
  • Auxilliary Input
  • Headphones output jack
  • Bluethooth streaming (of either the LP playback or the AUX source)
    • Loss of built-in speakers
  • Dust Cover
  • RCA Cable
  • 1/8" (3.5 mm) Aux Cable
  • Felt Slipmat (vs. Pre-Mounted)

Don't do it! Get a used technics sl 1200 or 1700 on eBay. Yes they're a lot more money (200 to 350 or so) but way nicer and can recoup most of your investment on resale

What's the point of putting all the effort into buying and listening to records when the quality will be bad? Defeats the purpose...

Ion turntables are not quality. They will eat up your records with a heavy needle. Plus the playback quality is garbage. Dont buy into these cheap sub 100 dollar record ruiners.

The karaoke machine was $10 more in last week's deal, so this is definitely a good deal

Save up for atlp60. People will still talk trash about that turntable but regardless of what anyone says it's a good intro unit without sacrificing everything possible. If you feel the sense of urgency to upgrade it after you get it and use it, make sure you enjoy the hobby and then pass it on to the next newbie.

People love to talk about needles ruining records and this and that, but look how our parents treated their vinyl. They'd stack them up while playing ffs. If you're buying an intro player you probably have some crappy quality vintage stuff or some $15 Walmart repress. Unless you play them a ton you're not going to hurt anything, and if you start playing it a ton then upgrade. Easy call.

As Sgt Hulka said in Stripes, "Lighten up Francis..."

Finding fun and crazy ways to interact with your neighbors during a time of social distancing is important for your mental health. Besides, it's the weirdos who are the most fun. You should have as many weird people in your life as possible.

Have a great day Mrs Grundy!
