This device serves no purpose now. GeForce now has had all major games pulled. In general Android TV is the last thing to get support if at all.

It Hulu has given up on Android TV.

Without GeForce now just get a fire stick. You have all the power and nothing to do with it.
Well that's just wrong. I don't even game and here are some awesome perks.

- their upscale ai is the best out there and alone that makes all shows look so much better. Especially 1080p to 4k.
- you can use it as an easy Plex server. If you don't have a computer setup for that this will act easily. Use the file transfer to move movies from your comp to nvidia for an easy to use player.
- streaming games to it is great if you have an nvidia card.
- it's compact which is great.
- it gets regular updates for new features.
- it can process high end Dolby audio.

Really the biggest downside to it is now optical out but you can an extra 20 bucks for an HDMI splitter to get optical.

The Shield Pro (2019) hasn't received an update in over 3 months.

Multiple bluetooth headset issues and overall poor support.

nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/shield-tv/9/

EDIT: Copy and paste above link. Issues with SD.

O I got mine recently and it had a bunch of updates. Don't know about the Bluetooth issue. Also can you check your link again. I can't see it.

You're having issues with bluetooth headsets and I get that, but it not having an update in three months while this virus thing gets sorted out isn't real bothersome to most people, I'd think? The overall poor support statement isn't factual. Have you owned many other tv boxes? The damn Roku has HDCP errors consistently, the MiBox was a pos, FireSticks/FireTv are mostly fine - have their own issues, AppleTV has a pitiful amount of apps, Google Nexus player they dropped like a rock, the Chinese Android boxes are mostly really poor, The Shield is the best of them. I've owned or own all of these and a few of the Chinese ones, too. That other guy's points are valid. Like it or not, the Shield is still the best Android TV box and does still get support and updates after all these years of their various Shield product line.

For anyone else wondering, the last update released was 8.1.1 [32.7.301.99] on Feb 26, 2020.

So keep the 2017 model if you don't want the AI upscaling feature? I have both on different tvs. You can buy the remote control separately. Look, I'm not an Nvidia shill, all I said was it's the best Android TV box, the other guy's points are valid, and that I don't agree on it having poor support as compared to all of the other choices out there. Buy what you like.

Stop acting ignorant. The post above you already states a few good reasons this is better than a Fire TV 4k.

Just admit, YOU don't need those features and stop acting like your ghetto setup is what the world needs.... Lol

Can you help me out. I'm trying to use my 8tb drive for internal storage, use Ethernet and setup a Plex server for the rest of my smart devices to stream to. I also want to stream Steam from my PC.

I can't find the options in my Fire TV 4k, please help!

I am looking to primarily use kodi on this machine to stream up to 4K movies from my NAS box. Is this a good buy or is it overkill? I currently have a Nuc that will not go over 1080p without dropping audio.
