How does this compare to the Amazon deal? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07NRNT...ZEbBG0D2FJ

How durable is the tripod? is the camera to heavy for it? especially with a bigger lens?

Joby makes some decent stuff, depending how you use it then it should handle an entry level DSLR fine. Larger lens depends on the lens, but I probably wouldnt put anything like a telephoto on it.

Most free items you get in the bundles are absolute trash, you would never want to put some unbranded filters on a lens and degrade optical quality for no reason.
As for which is a better deal, if you want this style of tripod (meant to grapple objects) then get this one. Otherwise, save the money and go amazon and get a real tripod.

I agree that the bundled items in these kits don't hold much value. As for the tripod, it's $25 on its own and you'll never use it with this type of camera. If you're vlogging, it may be useful, but this isn't the best camera for that anyways.

If you have Costco membership, they have T7 2 lens kit with 70-300mm for same price. The saving is not much but they have great warranty and return policy.

I bought a deal on Rakuten from Ted's for the SL2. It was opened for "QC" and missing the tripod and manual. I should have forgotten about it, because it can barely hold the camera and the top fell off. I may have left it in the trash in Costa Rica. My 2¢ is the tripod would be good for a GoPro or small camera. Depending on build quality, they can give to the weight right off the bat or over time.

Costco is showing $449. with the two lens kit so a little more, but would be my choice. As a fyi, one can buy this online, shipped, and NOT have a membership. Often there may be a slight upcharge, but not always. Good luck. Btw, if one does not need the the 70-300 lens, it should net $80-$140. on Craigslist.

Do note that the Adorama deal does NOT include the most recent release Canon 18-55 lens which is a STM lens and a improvement. It also appears the Costco deal is using the older lens too. Not saying the older model is inferior, but the new STM lens would be a step up and my choice.

Canon's support sucks, and they recently screwed many loyal customers when they took away the ability to use the WiFi functions on a lot of older models.

I wonder too. I can't even find anyone complaining about anything similar in a google search.
