i have 3 google voice numbers if anyone wants them for porting. Will let them go for cost of 'unlocking' ($3) them from google. PM me if you need them.

Metro doesn't let you port in GV numbers for these "free phone" deals.

So essentially - 40*6 (maybe 7) = $280 for phone + 6/7 months of service. Not too shabby if someone is looking for a phone.
Or a "free" mobile WiFi-only device for you to play with in your spare time? Or kids?

Currently have 3 lines on Metro, paying $100 for unlimited.
New deal is $100/4 lines unlimited, which we would do since our youngest is at the age where we would start letting them show responsibility with a phone.

So the question is, what's the easiest and cheapest way to pull this off, ideally with 4 free phones.

Buy 4 numbers from ebay.

This buying phone numbers off eBay strategy doesn't seem to be as easy as it sounds. I bought one off eBay about 2 hours ago, the guy sent me the info within 2 hrs, ph #, att acct #, and pin. So I hopped in the car, went to a MetroPCS store, they ran the info and said "this phone number was on MetroPCS 2 months ago and isn't eligible for that deal". I asked "so when is it eligible?" and they replied "at the end of next month, if the deal is still going on". I asked them "why the wait?" and they replied "a phone number has to be off of MetroPCS for at least 3 months." Is that true? Also, how do you buy a phone number off eBay and make sure it hasn't been on MetroPCS for at least 3 months, before purchasing it? I don't see in any listings on eBay that any of them state how long the numbers they sell have been off of certain carriers? I don't want to just keep rolling the dice, buying more phone numbers, and running around to other MetroPCS stores, going through this kind of disappointment over-and-over again. How do you make sure you get this done right the first time, or at the most the second time? Here's who I purchased my number from and I got burned on all this https://www.ebay.com/itm/254512088985

Yes, the 3 month rule is real and they do enforce it.

Ended up buying the last one for $77.20 with one month of service and taxes. Ported over a number from Visible that's been out of service since last year. Glad it worked out.

Anyone know if you can do this porting in a number from Freedompop, or do they treat it the same as Google Voice?

this "free" deal in the end is pretty meh...though i'll take the tablet plan into consideration since there doesn't seem to be hoops to jump through like the Sprint offer

Does the phone number that youre porting in need to be off T-Mobile for 90 days too or just Metro? Also, is Metro still checking to see if you have been with the carrier that you are porting out of, for 90 days? I remember from previous Metro deals, some posters mentioned that happening to them.

Includes T-Mobile, Metro, and all the MVNOs that use T-Mobile's network.

I am on free Sprint BYOD that ends at the end of the month. Will I be able to port in and take advantage of this promo?

Please anyone with info appreciated.

Yes, you should be able to port in and get the discount since those numbers wouldn't have been in any T-Mobile network in the last 3 months. I ported two previous lines from that promotion when mine ended a few months ago to get two Moto G7 Power. I just added two more from Freedompop numbers and got two Moto G Stylus.
