No. Do not invest in DeWalt 40v. That is a failed line. Go 20v or go 60v.

That said, 20v is fine for trimmers.

Seems like a decent deal, but not that slick. The bare tool seems to hover around $110-120 most of the time. Paying $60 for a 5Ah battery and charger isn't bad, but I'm still holding out for a better-than-decent deal.

I have this tool and love it. It's burly and well balanced, and a 20v 5ah battery lasts a long time of hedge trimming. I would agree that there's no need to go with a 40v, especially considering the range of other 20v tools which can also use the battery included in this kit.

You are very limited if you go with 40v.
