Unless the dates are for next year, it appears there are no more Roadshows scheduled.

I got it during the last deal and used 1 bag.
Overall good, not great, mixed back, some pieces are med-large, some others are small. Overall I found way better 10 lbs bag at my local Menards [menards.com] for $5.97 is just as good if not better.

Thanks for the input. Think I'll stick with Royal Oak.

+1 for Royal oak from price / performance perspective. I rarely use anything else but from time to time do use fogo (Large Chunks!!!) for low and slow cooks that last forever..

Decent deal if this is your preferred charcoal. The last batch I bought from Amazon came in boxes (bagged inside box) resulting in less breakage. This is a lower price though, ordering for summer.

Wally often has Western for $9.99 for a 30lb bag, and they have Royal Oak for $9.99 for 15lbs right now.

I've gone through about 180lbs of Western and found maybe 2 rocks. It's good stuff. if you're paying $1/lb, you're overpaying.

You seem to be serious in your predilections so I'll just add there's a lot of charcoal comparison videos and blogs out there. Couldn't hurt researching a bit. Not all wood is same and neither is charcoal. When this same priced deal was thumbed up last time it went promptly out of stock, so it's probably best that here it's thumbed down for the most part. But don't let that influence your take on the product.

That being said, there are upcoming roadshows where this will even cheaper. Perhaps get some then to try out as smaller quantity bags will be available in store. Peace

After seeing a video a few days back, I think I'll stock up on B&B if I see a sale on it.

repped. I've used fogo, cowboy charcoal (sell in store at costco), royal oak but nothing compares to the flavor and longevity of the KJ charcoal. It is more expensive but it burns clean and lasts double the time of the royal oak. Plus it's actual massive chunks not just hundreds of two inch pieces.

If you want to give it a try, buy a single bag at lowes - the go on sale for 20 sometimes.
