Product Description: | Everyday Essentials Multi-Function Adjustable Power Rack Exercise Squat Stand with J-Hooks and Other Accessories, 500-Pound Capacity Overview: No other lower body exercise in existence delivers more bang for the buck than a basic barbell squat. It?s one of the most primitive movement patterns known and is without question the most productive leg exercise available for increasing overall muscle size, strength and performance. Squats allow you to handle a large amount of weight and are an incredibly effective means of stimulating size and strength gains throughout your entire lower body. In fact, performing this one lift alone would allow you to develop a very impressive lower body even if you never included any other exercises at all. 500-Pound weight capacity. Heavy duty square steel frame construction with H-Shape base for max stability and safety. Pull up bar is included. Two heavy duty J-Hooks are included too. Two weight plate holders are designed for convenience and enhanced stability. Assemble tools are included in the package. |

Also if you look close to the picture, there's like a foot of space where there's no holes for the for the hook/holder. Lol so if by any chance you're that size, you're screwed.

Not sure if you're being sincere. But I'll assume you are. I'd advise against getting this and wait for the full power rack that goes for $200 shipped a couple of times out of the year.
The full power rack comes with the safety bars that's saved me from my ego more times then I can count. In addition the full power rack is more versatile with future add ons such as pulley attachment, dip attachment, etc.

Jhooks are not the same as safety bars. Using bench press as an example, jhooks are usually above your head as you grip the bar prior to release. Shall you fail, jhooks aren't going to save you.
Using squat as an example, jhooks will position the bar prior to you putting the bar on your back, shall you fail you can release the bar easily without it hurting you on the way down. Safety bars come into play more than you'd think especially with specific programs e.g. GVT.
Just realized what you meant by jhooks. You probably meant spotter arms. This rack doesn't have spotter arms. It seems the jhooks are merely a few inches in length. Long enough to hold the bar but not long enough to catch for safety purposes.
In addition I wouldn't feel comfortable using spotter arms on a half rack.

On a back squat its fairly simple to get away from the weight even at the bottom.
As far as bench if I'm alone I do not use clips if I intend on going almost until failure, you can tilt it and weights fall off again not elegant as it will see saw
Safety bars are nice as are full racks but more expensive, and take up more room, I've done plenty of weight with just portable independent squat stands because I do not have a ton of garage space.

That's fair. I am fortunate to have the space in my garage granted I move my car out prior to every workout. Yes squats are easier to get away from, you are correct. But there's also the issue of the weights dropping damaging the floor and/or the weights themselves. I know I'm the the only one that bought the cheapo Dick's bar and weight set for $150 during Black Friday.
If room does allow I'd still suggest the full rack set especially for $80 more (assuming they'll come back at the $200 price point). Not sure about you but the wobbly issue with a half rack always made me uneasy. I'm sure it's safe but again made me feel uneasy
