nonda ZUS® Smart Vehicle Health Monitor Mini - Free (plus shipping cost)

This smart Bluetooth enabled OBDII Scanner & Car Code Reader is currently on-sale for free currently and you only need to pay shipping. The shipping cost for me was under $9.

The device is currently being sold on Amazon (ships and sold by Amazon) for $49.99. Pretty good deal IMO. I'm picking one up as a Father's Day gift for my dad since it's coming up in a couple weeks.

Amazon says it drains your battery and you can't leave it plugged in. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077B3F...ZEb1MS73PZ

I placed an order at 3:00 am PT time. I cannot cancel it in their website so I emailed them to request a cancellation at 4:30 am PT time. And the system emailed me that they already shipped it at 5:00 am PT time.

they don't cancel it for me also don't ship it for me. they only send me a tracking number which cannot track anything.

Don't count on it coming as a gift. I ordered a couple of times and never received. I did receive initial shipping info but then they just disappeared. Use a throwaway email since you'll get a bunch of spam from them after also.

Here's a tip, don't leave it plugged in. This is an OBD scanner and reader. This procedure for some cars will cost you $80-$100 at a station. $9, to have this little tool? Why the low ratings!?

Per their website it draws .005 mA - .008 mA
A standard car battery is about 45 aMp hours.
That's about 5 million hours. Even if their wrong by 300%, so what? IMO I think people have had a crap battery or something else also draining the battery.

Do the math, https://www.digikey.com/en/resour...ttery-life

I was searching for a different kind of scanner and this popped up. I was surprised to see all the thumb down ratings. This has been plugged into a Ford Taurus 2004 SES for over a month now and it works fine as far as I can tell. I signed up to a freebie and got the "freebie" in the mail over a month ago, I paid $8.94 for shipping.

I originally signed up after seeing the "3D Printing Nerd" talked about it at the end of one of his youtube videos.

I looked into the whole battery thing and figured the car gets used enough that the battery drain shouldn't be a major problem.

You Nailed it. I've also had mine now for a few weeks, no problems. The negative reviews are unjustified.
