I dont have the indoor IQ cam... but both my indoor Nest and outdoor Nest cams can run off a USB battery pack; they use ~2w idle and ~5w night vision.

Functionally, not much difference... but I run 4 Wyze cams and 3 Nest cams and I honestly think the Nest cams are worth the money, as everything about them seems "nicer"

- Nest/Google app is waaaaay better
- You can view your Nest cams on Nest website without any apps
- Seamless integration with Google Home/Hub. I can say "Hey Google show Nest Cam X" and the feed pops up instantly on my Hub or TV. The Wyze cams require some fiddling to work with streaming and take a minute to "load"
- Audio and Video quality a tiny bit better
- If you have more than one cam, you can view all your Nest cams in real time at the same time, with Wyze you have to "login" to each cam once at a time, So its much better for viewing multiple streams at once
- Person/AI detection is a whole different league with Nest. I disabled person detection on my Wyze cams because it was so hit or miss. On my Nest cams, they identify over 50 people with no error.

I point my Nest cams outisde and use them as security cameras as I generally trust them more to be reliable. I use the Wyze cams to keep on eye on stuff that isnt that important to watch 24/7 (ie pets). You do need massive data to run the Nest cams though since they are recording 24/7 to cloud. If you need a simple camera to view some non important stuff then go with Wyze... for anything important (ie security/porch pirates), the Nest is worth it for peace of mind and reliability. Think of it as a cheapo $50 Walmart android smartphone vs a flagship Galaxy S, Pixel, iPhone, etc... The cheap phone gets the job done but the experience is not as nice.
Expensive, but not overpriced. IQ is high quality tech and build.
I need the outdoor at this price. For those upset about the price, you clearly lack the appreciation and understanding of a high quality product and experience.

Just like there are plenty of $300 phones that do just about everything that iPhones and pixels do. But the overall product and experience just doesn't compare and you'd know that if you'd those high quality products.

Both price categories are great and offer something for everyone, but there is a clear reason for the price difference.

Thanks I've been thinking about picking these up. Best Buy has them for the same price and I went ahead and got them from there since they have them in stock locally.

Besides Home Depot and BestBuy, the Google Store and B&H Photo both have this deal as well.

Does anyone know a way to local storage the data from these cameras using a NAS?

With that price, I would expect a 4k camera.

Hi SharpVest

These are cloud locked devices with no local rtsp feed.

You'll probably be better off with an IP PoE camera that meets specs to allow your own recording storage.

Thanks, Mat! I really hate the idea to be attached lifetime with one more service subscription. If I'm not wrong Amazon Blink allows me to do it. I will double check. Thanks again!

Google's store website lists these as 4k cameras, even though HD says they are only 1080p. Good deal if you need two of them

Well this is a great camera. I have 3 of these for the kids rooms and the resolution is good. No idea why would you want a 8k camera for a 150 sq ft room. Just my 2 cents.

I don't have the IQ cameras but I have had the Nest Outdoor Cam mounted above my driveway for almost 3 years now in the Arizona heat and through Monsoon seasons with no issues at all (Not under an awning). If I didn't just pick up 2 more for $200 I would have jumped on this deal. The IQ, like the door bell recognizes faces and I assume has a better picture.

They have a 4K sensor, but they are still 1080p. I believe the 4K Sensor allows them to view more clearly and do that tracking feature you see when it follows a person.
