Any point in getting this now that they support the 2.0 cord that comes in the box? Like I know it has a high throughput, but is there a noticeable difference?

Length? How are you play the game by just sit on chair?

The rumor is that they're going to make improvements for USB 3.0 connections after putting their effort into getting 2.0 where it is now.

Buying an 80 dollar fiber optic cord because it's longer is a bit silly when you can buy a usb extender or even a longer cord for a lot less (if there isn't a noticeable difference)

There are so many different USB we are talking about. I'm sure you can buy whatever you want, but the question is will your purchase compatible with oculus? I mean sure you don't have to buy this total BS usb cable, but I'm sure NOT every usb works with oculus. Try do some research, hopefully yours works

That makes sense, hopefully they do

I bought a generic on amazon for $20, works fine.
But the real pro move is to use virtual desktop.

Yeah and setting a router just for that. I'm thinking doing that to play rift games wirelessly.

I wanted it for length and when I was doing research on other cables I kept seeing at least a few people saying that it didn't work with their quest on every cable. Probably user error but I'd rather know for sure that it'll work

Isn't one of the benefits of this that it can charge through the cable while you're using it, while most others can't? I got the recommended Anker cable, and throughput seems fine but it only occasionally feeds the headset power, during non-intensive moments.
