It won't be wise to buy this as the newer model with USB C charging will be out soon. And historically Amazon tablets only stays a few months after it comes out before it drops to this price range. So it will be better to get the newer model.

It has USB C charging, based on the product description:

This is the latest mode that was updated in 2019. Amazon typically does a 2-year refresh cycle on these. Previous model was from 2017.

If I have a PC. You can make this like a stock Android tablet using XDA AMAZON TOOL BOX. I did this to mine and really like the results. It's super easy to do.

When you get it, give it the wrong wifi password, it's the only way to get to the next step without updating it. I also turned off automatic updates.... This will help me in the future if I want to install lineage.

Highly recommend doing this. Check out the thread... Google xda amazon toolbox.

The outcome of using XDA amazon toolbox is u get a slightly faster tablet then Samsung's Tab A 2019 version which sells when on sale for $220. Both tablets have a very similar screen.

OK, about KODI. It is a legal app that 10's of millions of people use because you can install "illegal" add-on's that allow you to watch almost anything (old shows, new shows, old movies, new movies, etc and sports, live tv, etc...). I have not heard of anyone getting in trouble for using Kodi with addons but I don't know what the future holds. Unlike torrents, which MANY people have been sued for watching a movie. I do use Kodi, and Netflix and Prime Video to watch stuff.

For Kodi, I like to install a "build" (dozens of add-on's) rather then a repository (single add-on)

There are MANY builds.... I like GRIND, seems to work pretty good.

There are thousands of youtube video, I like to search "Kodi Grind Build" and then sort by upload date... Most add-ons stop working properly after a while and you then need to go into your android settings, go into apps, go into storage, clear the CACHE (you can do this as much as you want) and clear your data (this will bring Kodi back to it's original state), and then you can search for a different build that works better.

SO>>>> first you install Kodi from the Play store. THEN follow a youtube video...

Here is one that is kind of old and shows you how to install this GRIND build...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb9JdG97t1g
Here is a recent video... (basically the same thing)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5...qrs&t=108s

Tell me what you think.
