No I'm serious. Would you wear this in public?
We're long past worrying about whether protective gear looks good on us. I wear a N95 mask and clear plastic face shield when I have to go out for groceries. I'd wear a pink moon suit hazmat getup if I thought that would guarantee me from getting Covid but those aren't available either.

If you were to get a bad dose of the virus consider the prospect if you (or your parents) get put on a ventilator. Considering the low recovery rate at that point the odds are that no one is going to remember your fashion sense when they seal your body and send it off to the crematoria. And even if you do survive, what happens to your insurance rates when they discover that you have scarred lungs and a lower life expectancy? Are you a good hire for your next job considering your medical history?

Yeah, I'd say you've got other things more important to worry about than whether it might look good on you.

More power to you. But I live in the real world. Covid is no less lethal than the flu.

LOL, what? So you think everything around is just hype and so places like Italy where they have x times deaths is just the same shit as the flu?

I am not one of those who panics and hoards things but I am also practical and want to know information and not just be lazy and take risk for NO reason. Its not just for me but others that live with me and that I come in contact with. I want to see more data and see what the outcome of these so called medications are before the next Flu season which might be coupled with C19.

No hard in taking precaution man but saying its just the FLU at this stage in the game with the Virus is just plain wrong and frankly scary mentality. What sucks is that you could be completely healthy and just be a carrier and infect people....

The question you asked is still valid as to when and where you'd wear these? If you are interacting around a lot of people I'd wear this to avoid any splatter type particles but would still have a mask on as an aerosol barrier.

No... the purpose of the a face shield is different from the facemask. facemasks in public use are to help prevent you from spreading disease to others by containment to your mask. The face shield is to help with fluids and splatter to your face. IMO, face shields aren't needed for most everyday things/activities.

People are remarkable, really. It's amazing how hysteria has spread. The only reason a regular person would need a face shield is if you're sand blasting a home project.

I think the point is morons are thinking they can wear these instead of masks, and for that purpose they are completely ineffective.

I wouldn't be so fast to call them morons. I've heard the argument some people substitute face shields for no mask is because they have respiratory illnesses that make breathing hard such as asthma.

I'm more upset about the true morons not wearing anything
