Where I'm at, we have st augustine and burmuda grass which this stuff kills outright. I had to use a
PRE-Emergent HERBICIDE to prevent the seeds from germinating. Timing is everything though. You'll have to research the time to apply for your area of the country. Today is too late for this year. This stuff lasts 4-6 months and the seeds do germinate but before you notice the plants the the weather changes and they die off.

I've had good luck with scotts halts in the past but switched to a liquid concentrate (Surflan) for my garden and lawn. It seems to do well too. After 3 years or so most of the
seeds from past years have germinated and you have a weed free lawn.

Look up PRE-Emergent HERBICIDE and how to use it.

I used this on 3000 sq feet and it did great on clover and other broadleaf weeds. It did not kill poana grass and did nothing to prevent crabgrass. Worth $5 i paid though.

Is there anywhere that does real, honest reviews on mulitple similar products for stuff like this? I don't care what format, website, Youtube, even print....just looking for something similar to vacuumwars or wirecutter or Consumer Reports (circa 2000).

This does up to 5000 sq ft. You probably need two.

If the crabgrass "control" actually worked, it would be a great deal...

Surprisingly, the one that I found that worked best in my situation, everyone's is usually different, was the Spectracide version of this one that hooks to the hose. Yes, there will be haters, but it has completely kicked the crabgrass's butt. I did one treatment with it, followed by another 2 1/2 weeks later. That worked in my case. I hope that you find one that works just as well for your lawn.

This is the only way to stop crabgrass. Use pre emergent. Here is some good info.

Same as this.
I find poana very hard to kill. I may switch tactics on my crabgrass efforts. I was watching how to spot "paint" Crabgrass. You gotta really rub it on it to kill it.
