Not a fan of this tablet. Even on sale it has specs below the upcoming Fire HD 8 2020 model for way more money. Heck you can get the new Fire HD 8 Plus with USB C and 3GB of RAM for less than this in a few days. This tablet is just a no go.

With all that said, I just bought the new Galaxy Tab 8 8.4 for $240 (AT&T model) straight from Samsung the other day. USB C, smaller bezels than this tablet or the Fire HD 8s, LTE support, full 1080p screen and 3GB of RAM. If LTE matters to you at all that is something to consider.

Also consider the Lenovo Tab M8 goes on sale for close to this price too. Micro USB but 3GB of RAM and a Full HD screen. That tablet alone makes the Galaxy Tab here seem like a terrible deal.

This is a tablet does not have a 1080P screen and is the bare minimum in performance that you want so you can have a decent android experience. If it was me... I would do a hard pass, wanting to speed more to get something better for a little more money.

This tablet specs... Samsung included a 2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 processor, only 2GB RAM, and 32GB expandable storage.

OK, so the new Fire Tablet 8" is a little faster and similar screen and Amazon has it with 3GB of RAM (will make a little difference) and with XDA Amazon Tool Box you can get the Fire 8 2019 to look like stock android. BUT... the 8" tablets that I would probably buy would be...

1. Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 MIPad 4 8 Inch Tablet Snapdragon 660 Octa Core 32GB/64GB 1920X1200. Issues... main issue is that to buy this for a decent price ($180ish for new - not refurbished) you need to order this through China and the delivery is about 7 weeks; you need to sideload the play store; you can not watch Netflix or Amazon Prime in HD; this tablet came out in 2018 and a new one is expected in 6 months - but still the best value when you look at the specs.

2. Hauwei Mediapad M6 8"... buy at your own risk, there was a time a few weeks ago that someone figured out how to install google play services. So I don't even know if you can but I will assume you can in the near future. Same issues about time to order and Netflix and Prime Video. But this tablet in specs is a beast. I would only buy this tablet if you can find a current YouTube Video... problem is if you do... a few weeks later the links to help you install the play store may be taken down (that is what has currently happened.

If I were to buy either of these I would use JD.com (have never used this site, it is like Ali Express), I say the mi pad 4 for about $160... don't know how much shipping was. But I personally would wait the six - 8 weeks and get the better product. I think I would buy the Mi Pad 4, due to the documentation of how to side load play store and I think Lineage is available for this tablet.

I bought an open boxed one for $103. It was in perfect condition and works good. I put a 512 Gig MicroSD card in it full of movies. The battery is lasting a little more than 10 hours. Not bad for 100 bucks...

If you want these for your kids, just know they won't play hardly any games without huge lag.

I have experienced two tablet with cracked screens from coffee table drops with a case like yours.

Now I always buy cases like these, with no screen protector. I do have scracthes on my screen... but they don't bother me. https://www.amazon.com/ProCase-Shockproof-Convertible-Friendly-Protective/dp/B081C8QXK2/ref=sr_1_3?d... [amazon.com]

Get the tab A 8.4 inch, or if you need a S Pen get the SM-P200 from Amazon. Both are about twice a much but come with a better processor Exynos 7904 and 3GB Ram, plus widevine L1, and USB C.

I had the Lenovo M8 FHD but couldn't deal with not watching Netflix and Prime in HD.
