Ender's Game 4K UHD review: https://hometheaterhifi.com/featu...ie-review/

Is this movie any good? Read the book years ago but never bothered watching this adaptation.

I thought this movie was absolutely horrible. Read the book a few years ago and tried to get through the movie after picking it up on sale, but I didn't finish it. There are better movies to get for $10.

Also, for disc quality if you do decide to get it: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/En...ay/147734/

Not a bad movie. However no 4K digital code makes this an easy pass.

This movie is absolute garbage. You can tell the producer did not even read anything other than the back of the book and get a vague description of some of the major plot points.

Ender is an introverted person in the books, but has the capability to destroy an enemy when it's absolutely necessary. There is a plethora of character development that occurs in the books; meanwhile the movie just paints him as a completely different character that ignores every important moment.
The whole movie is centered around getting to the battles.

If you've read the books, you're wasting your time with the movie. It's one of the worst adaptations of a book I've ever seen. If you haven't read them, it's entertaining enough to watch once. But, rent it.

It's not horrible. It's not great. The book is much better(no surprise).
If you have not seen it but have Amazon Prime you can stream it for free(but looks like has ads) right now and draw your own conclusion.

Strange...I never read the book, but I loved the movie. If you want to enjoy the movie, maybe better not read the book.

Looks like the 4k blacks are more grey in this transfer... even the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen are grey...

The 4k uhd is mastered with bad gamma, the regular Blu ray looks better

The movie is disappointing compared to the book. They skip most of the character development that made the book shine. The book isn't long, but it should have been two movies to capture it effectively. I know they can't justify spending for that sort of thing on a story that isn't well known enough, so we get this.

Visually it's very good. I felt the sets, training, and battles all were close enough to what I had imagined. Casting I felt was just okay. If you want to introduce someone to this story who might later read it, it's an adequate movie I guess.

It's a Lionsgate film not eligible for MA. The code said it was expired but I was still able to redeem.

That is disappointing. Do we know if Lionsgate will ever join MA?

That is unlikely. The bigger Hollywood studios have frozen out the smaller players on MA. The only ones I could see joining in the future would be MGM and Paramount, but both those studios have money issues.
