Question for the OP:

How easy/hard is it to open the bottom of the laptop for DIY upgrades? Does it have an easy access panel or not?

EDIT: I did google Eluktronics Mag 15 but not sure if it's the same model as this one. It had a bay for a 2.5" HD. Could you confirm or deny if this is the case with yours?
Hey, its really easy, only 10 screws and everything is very neatly laid out. The two m2 drives are right next to each other. It does not have a 2.5 inch bay.

It looks like this https://abload.de/img/xmgfusion15...pvyjyr.jpg https://abload.de/img/xmg-fusion-...tggkuy.jpg

Not really a good deal considering what I've seen in the past. Nothing has beat Walmarts $1000 computer in power per dollar in my opinion.
Actually this is the same computer as all the other Tongfang chassis. Walmarts version(still a Tongfang even though it is branded Evoo) may be plastic instead of the magnesium alloy frame that the mag 15 uses but it is still the same guts. I bought the 17" version and would recommend. Also these Tongfang computers can push their GPUs more wattage(115W) and limit the 9750h wattage(I am not seeing that with the other brands and are limited to the 80w cap). Under volt and you have a great machine!

AMD's new 4000 series cpu, 2060 GPU, and 17"

I don't mind waiting for that! Eluktronics had one you could build but the wait time is all the way out to August. Sad panda.

+$50 to get a 500gb NVME SSD
+$80 to get 2x8gb ram
Seems worth. I wish I could buy a gaming laptop right now.

I have a few spare nvmes and rams. Is it possible to order it without the ram, ssds and os to lower the price?

There's one important option no one has mentioned yet: external upgrades via Thunderbolt 3.
While the RAM and NVMe clearly need immediate attention and fortunately can easily be upgraded, the GPU can't, inside the computer that is. So if that machine holds up to its promises in general over time and starts showing signs of aging on the rendering side, it would be easy and relatively cheap to attach an external GPU. The extra cost for an enclosure might be outweighed by the extra performance advantage full sized GPUs have over their mobile counterparts.
At least in my opinion Thunderbolt 3 is a huge opportunity to significantly prolong the useful lifetime of such high powered computers in various ways, at least for stationary use.

He might be referring to the $999 deal on the Walmart / EVOO 17.3" deal from BF and again in Jan 2020. I bought one of those and don't regret it one bit. An excellent performer for $1000.

EDIT: Hadn't gotten to page 2 before I post this and it was already mentioned.

Isn't this a better deal with double the memory and double the SSD (and NVMe instead of SATA):

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Laptop.../685182150

Also made by Tong Fang same as this unit. 50 bucks more. (Plus only $88 for 3 years warranty)

That laptop (EVOO LP5) does not have an NVME SSD. It has an M.2 SATA SSD that prevents the CPU from reaching deep sleep states and reduces battery life

With laptops, keep in mind that just because they stuffed a great cpu and GPU inside doesn't mean it's going to be powerful. All is heavily dependent on the thermals. Please check the thermals first, at different noise levels, and make sure you are okay with the performance at certain noise levels. Check for manufacturer undervolting and other throttling. Look at stress test results for CPU and GPU on reviews. Look at burst vs sustained performance. Specs are not everything.

The laptop is fantastic. This thing is incredibly light, great solid feel. The battery is a 94 Watt Hour, which is pretty much the max you can have on an airplane.
I dont think its going to be in stock for long, just remember to make sure the freebies are clicked, I think theres a free mouse and mouse pad along with the free games.
Cheers
How do we get the free mouse pad ?

If you just scroll down when configuring it, you can add the mouse pad for 0$, along with a pretty decent mouse at the bottom.
So yeah Mouse and Mouse pad are free extras

Thank you for this! Question about the device, how hot does it get when you play games?

FWIW, I waited for the "refurb" LP4 on ebay a few weeks back for ~$650 after tax. got the WD black 1TB nvme drive coming monday, so under $800 all in. I thought that was a pretty good deal, even though the GPU in the EVOO is a step down
