Great ultrawide lens in a small package, and you can use filters on this lens unlike most other bulb shaped ultrawide zooms.

It's been this price for a while. Instant rebate instead of going through tamron's rebate process. Personally waiting for the 70-180mm to get an EDU discount.

What's required for the edu discount?

They use unidays to validate. Unsure how extensive their validation is.

Do you have info on the Tamron rebate for the 17-28? I haven't seen it when I google it. Their website does not list this lens (nor the 28-75) as rebate-applicable.

BH, with their Edu discounts and Payboo card which eliminates sales tax, has by far the best camera deals. I recently bought Sony a9 with 200-600 lens. Sold it after playing with it for 3 months and only lost money on shipping.

It's not extensive. You just need access to an edu email account and be able to log into your uni's portal.

Me too is waiting for the 70-180mm but it is just out, have to wait for a bit. I have 28-75mm and sony 20mm f1.8, so I do not need this one

When I click on the link, B&H is landing on an intrusive ad page to signup for something and there is no close button also. So, it is not taking to the lens page. Anyone experiencing the same?

Are you talking about Unidays? That's the service you need to sign up with to verify your edu status.

The 70-180 just came out a month ago and its a very desirable lens.I doubt that they will discount it but who knows?

wonder if should trade my Sigma 20 1.4 for this. It's less light, but wider range in the wide end and more convenience. i posted this to the wrong thread with the 2875, which I already have.

It's not out yet. Announced, but I believe release is June 11.
