Maybe it's because I grew up in an immigrant household but it blew my mind when I found out Americans don't clean their tongues when brushing their teeth.

The level of yuck mouth I experience when I don't have my tongue scraper around is unbearable. You just gotta try it to understand how much comes off your tongue when you give it a good cleaning.

And don't get me started on why Americans still wipe their poopy butts with tiny squares of paper instead of using a bidet... but that's a rant I'll save for another thread.
Are you literally 5 years old?
Using a toothbrush actually works very well for scraping your tongue. However, it wears out your toothbrush much faster so it makes more sense to buy a tongue scraper that will pretty much last forever (plastic or steel). Toothbrushes are relatively more expensive, especially if you use an electronic toothbrush.

Tongue scraping is vital to eliminating bad breath. After brushing, your tongue holds all of the bacteria and gunk in your mouth.

I bought this a couple weeks ago when I posted it (went OOS). I used to use a bent q-tip to scrape, but this works much better. Well constructed. I recommend it. Attached a pic for those interested.

I clean it after each use with Efferdent (FP deal).

Are we supposed to scrape our tongues clean? I missed this in kindergarten hygiene class.

I used both the stainless steel and plastic one and the plastic scraper is bendable and removes more for me.

Use a metal spoon instead if you want to save and something that is easier to clean

I just use a toothbrush. Your tongue isn't a flat surface. A toothbrush will do a much better job.

what advantage does this have over a toothbrush? I've tried a few plastic/rubber ones, but none worked as good as a toothbrush/toothpaste.

I get this is cheap, so maybe worth the gamble to many. Seems like good price relatively
400+ reviews, so seems well liked

But heads up this brand has popped up in last couple weeks and getting posted unusually high.
also seem to be gaming the Amazon "CHOICE" system:

"Amazon's Choice for "yibidinay tongue scraper""
lol how is that a natural search term?
amazingly when people search for this exact product it's the most bought item ;p

Personally would rather pay a little more for a known brand when it comes to hygiene/health items.
it looks to me like name brands use PLASTIC for tongue scrapers.

search Amazon for Tongue scraper, then filter by brands you've heard of:
GUM & BreatheRX both only offer plastic/flexible solutions.

I've used a tongue cleaner since I was a child and started brushing my teeth myself. You'll be shocked at how much they get off your tongue if you've never used one before. Can't ever go without one now. With this price, just give it a try and you may end up thinking of it as a necessity!
