CX is WORSE than C9 in at least 5 important ways:
  • C9 48Gbps / CX 40Gbps
  • C9 12 bit / CX 10 Bit
  • C9 Full bandwidth on all HDMI ports / CX Full on ONE Hdmi port
  • C9 is brighter max whites than CX (this is important on OLED which is brightness challenged in general)
  • C9 has DTS / CX does not

There are probably more, but these are enough to disqualify the CX.
" C9 12 bit / CX 10 Bit"

The C9 will accept a 12-bit signal, but it's still a 10-bit panel, so that's of little or no value.

Likewise, 48 Gbps enables 12 bit color depth, but without a 12-bit panel, this also provides little or no value.

So by all means, compare the two models, but I would not put much weight on color depth or bandwidth, since they shouldn't impact picture quality in any way.

Big drawback of the new CX compared to C9 is the lack of DTS decoder for audio.

Some of the reviews are also saying the C9 is slightly brighter
If you are spending near $5k on a TV and don't have a receiver and speakers, you are doing it wrong.

From reading c9 vs cx, the biggest difference is black frame insertion. Apparently it helps with motion and clearer picture. C9 is brighter but apparently tv calibrators think this can be updated with firmware.

If you are buying a $4,000 TV, you shouldn't be worried about the DTS decoder. You should have your receiver handle it all, including pass-through.
There are no hdmi 2.1 receivers that can pass through 8k 60 or 4k 120 so you are instructing people to utilize something that doesn't exist yet. Even the new denon receivers(not out yet) will only have one hdmi 2.1 input capable of this. So basically either you have all your equipment go through your receiver and at best have room for one new game console/pc, to meet full potential. Or you send everything to your shiny new TV, earc back to receiver and lose dts. Hey maybe none of these people care about maximizing their new tv's potential and I'm not saying you are wrong but you gotta give the whole story.

I purched this tv two years ago and I have a green blob smeared all over my screen that just keeps getting worse! Pretty disappointing to spend 3K on a tv and have this happen. This seems to be pretty common problem with Oleds I will never buy a LG Oled again!

The OLED is fresh, local, sustainable, naturally raised, organic, non-GMO, fair-trade, and responsibly grown.

The LED is almost half the price per pound.

It's the same old thing- "But...but...the 'Q' on the QLED and 'O' on the OLED look nearly the same, so the TV quality must be nearly the same, right...?"

Saw the guy on RAFCAVE Youtube channel return his new 4K OLED for one of these new Samsung 8k TVs. Yeah, that lasted about a day, then he swapped back again ASAP. laugh out loud
The similarity between Q and O is Samsung trying to trick consumers that their TVs are comparable to OLED, not the other way around. So you have the right idea just entirely backwards.

QLED is a joke meant to trick uninformed consumers, OLED is the real deal.

How about using the built in tv apps and needing to pass audio to the avr?

My understanding is that DTS doesn't even pass through using arc to send audio to the receiver.

That's the issue. In my experience, the tv apps are the best to use for Netflix, Disney+, etc. I have the nvidia shield but the imagine quality isn't on par with the tv apps.
