I returned these. They were some of the most boring headphones I have ever listened to. Not bad, just not interesting. I FAR prefer my tin t4s if you can spend a bit more or blon bl 03s if you can only spend 30 bucks are decent and definitely still better then these.

Recently started into the IEM rabbit hole. Doing some analysis on ChiFi IEMs. This seems to be a good entry point on a named brand.

Checked the previous deal thread of this and the ChiFi comparison was mentioned at a high level. Greatly appreciate if any IEM enthusiasts can comment on how these compares to some of the well known ChiFis like KZ, Blon, Tin, Moondrop etc...

Full, I just picked up pair of blon 03s, arriving today. Would to hear feedback from others who have more experience in the budget IEM game.

Theres a reason why AKG iems that used to be $300-1000 dropped all the way down to Sub $100 in the last few years and its cause Chi-fi is meta now. You can get the super high end tuning and drivers for way less now. Even @$65 I wouldn't buy these because Chinese IEMs are just a lot better nowadays than western mid-fi IEMs. Slickdeals needs to start posting when Chifi IEMs go on sale imo

I mean they will technically still sound good regardless. At $99 it was still a good deal for back then as it was now. But UE, Shure, AKG, Westone iems compared to Modern chifi iems arent quite as musical in tonality. The technology and tuning has really trickled down in recent years.

Starfields 100% Moondrop tunes towards harman target just like AKG does anyway, so the signatures will be similar, but the sound quality will def be better than the AKGs with more modern drivers.

I returned a set of moondrop starfields. No soundstage, could not get a good seal, pressed them far into the ear canal to try and seal. Low bass was not there, had to eq a lot of low bass. The lack of a soundstage made them un acceptable. They required a long break in, I setup my phone with all the songs on shuffle at a slightly higher than normal listening and they warmed up but I still wasn't happy with them. If you buy them don't listen and give them several hours to break in. Take those reviews on amazon with a large grain of salt.

Brah. You aren't comparing the same apple to apple. Those ChiFi IEMs are not considered as a reference IEMs. I have more than 10 ChiFi IEMs including Blon BL03, KZ ZS10pro, Mee M6, TFZ T2 etc. and they are already tuned for V shaped EQ or for Tight vocal. This AKG sound should be flat but reproduces how songs were recorded with the musicians intentions. Good thing this one you can tweak a bit with the included filter. Once you pass the burn in period then you will get used to the flat sound. But i guess you've already returned it.
