Not familiar at all with this company, what would the resale value be like in a few years if properly maintained?

Not a ton..but I have seen a few sell for $600 used. This watch has a lot of value for $799 but as of right now the Eterna brand isn't going to bring much on the secondary market.

Poor resale but buy because you'll enjoy it, not because you're looking for a profit.

Eterna is most famous for its KonTiki line of diver watches, those hold up reasonably well. Very few watches with the exception of Patek and Rolex are good investments per se. Buy it if you like it and think you would enjoy wearing it. An automatic GMT from a reputable maker is a pretty good deal at this price. Also seems to have an in house movement (Eterna calibre 39 - not sure if this is based on an ETA movement) which is a nice feature.

Eterna is a watch brand of the company which owns ETA movements so this is a true in house calibre watch.. Not like other brands which take ETA movement and customize it

Fyi it's a 42mm case and it has fairly this bezels. This typically makes the watch wear larger than the specs suggest.

The good:
  • In-house movement
  • Good looking watch with nice features
Indifferent:
  • Not a high resale value. But not many watches hold their value, so look at it as enjoyment, not investment
The bad:

Buy a Hamilton for much less. It will also depreciate less too as there is a bigger used market.
