4th gen Ryzen is more efficient with more cores.

The last deal on 7th gen x1 carbon is as good if not better. 8gb ram is fine for most uses, especially with ssd.

While I would not buy one myself, 8 GB is fine for most users that just use primarily web browsers and office apps.

forgive my ignorance, but genuine curiosity, what do you guys do that uses up a lot of ram on a thin & light with a low tdp processor? I'd imagine many heavy applications would throttle the cpu first. maybe there's a use-case that I am completely unaware of.

I believe a laptop's weight must become one of the "necessary" list items under an item's description. I'm sure I'm not the only person who wonders if a carry laptop is 3.1 pounds or 4.0 pounds.

While less-than-a-pound difference might not mean much for a person who just plops it up on their desk in the bedroom or office all day, for some, (like me) a weight difference of 20-30%, can in fact matter for a person traveling with it from site to site on a daily basis.

Just my $0.02
