I have had two of these type smokers from Masterbuilt. First, the glass is a gimmick. After one smoke, the glass is forever dirty. Secondly, my two lasted just over a year and both croaked with the same problem - they stopped producing smoke. Their customer service used to be pretty good, but now they are nowhere to be found.

Strongly discourage.
Are the windows practical or a gimmick? I feel like they'd get smoked to the point of not really being useful.
They are nice for people who don't know much about smoking and constantly open the door to check the meat cooking, once you learn it's more set and forget it's a gimmick.

I'm not sure how practical when you have the temperature of the meat on display. However, a lot of moisture is produced during the smoke. You simply run a paper towel over the glass to clean.

I've had the older MES30 for a number of years with no issues. As most have already mentioned, the glass is a gimmick and will forever be dirty. No real complaints here on my MES30 unit.

You can constantly spray them down with oven cleaner if you really got to see the action happen

Rec Tec has a pretty good reputation from what I remember. Do they have anything comparable in this price range?

My windows was very dirty and I was skeptical of this advice but it worked like a champ on my last smoke. When you are done, just use a paper towel and the windows cleans easily because all of the steam and condensation on the window from the smoking session.

My Masterbuilt stopped producing smoke... so now I have to figure out how to fix that. It's an older silver 30" model.
