Just a heads up...I've been with T-Mobile since 2005, and have a Simple Choice 2.5gb plan with 5 lines.

Had a corporate discount giving me 15% off every month...my bill was about $115 for five lines including taxes ($100 +$10).

Got a text yesterday saying the discount would be discontinued in July...apparently, they should never have allowed it with this plan...they're saying I got 5 years of discounts that I shouldn't have been eligible for...they're not trying to get that money back (don't know if they could legally, but would be a PR disaster).

Apparently, its about 42000 accounts.

I may change plans later this year...for another $30-40 or so, I can get unlimited data for everyone, which would be nice. Unfortunately, I can't switch to another provider as I just did the iPhone SE trade in, so I've got $700 in credits over the next 24 months...now I know why people hate them!

your title suggested they are eliminating discounts AND simple choice, it appears they're just removing the discount you were not supposed to get...

i have the same plan but no discount, so hopefully i'm still in the clear for a while (dreading when they'll eliminate that one!)

Hate them?

So this company that has saved you thousands over the years you hate because you accepted monthly discounts on a phone that would otherwise have been hundreds of dollars more? You can always forego the discounts and just pay the fair market value for the phone.

Good luck finding cheaper comparable service even without your corporate discount.

Perhaps I should have written it more clearly...the "hate them" refers to the monthly credits when you buy/trade in a phone, not tmobile or my corporate discount.

As for my simple choice, considering I'm only getting 2.5gb data which is woefully short for a couple of my lines, I'm not sure how great a deal it is anymore...as I said, for about $30 more now I can get an unlimited plan for all the lines.

What about Select Choice plans? We have a corporate discount on out Select Choice plan from where I work at...but don't think any one of us got a text, yet at least.

What kind of corporate discount was yours? An employer one or an alumni one? Or are they getting rid of both? I was thinking of switching my corporate employer discount to my alum discount whenever my alum one ever gave a higher discount...but that's not happening now if they are getting rid of both
