I just bought this deal, and I think the price/lb is awesome (I meant I live in OK, so I dont know how much yall east coasters are considering cheap lol). The downside is that the earliest free shipping date I can get is July 22. What the hell, I still got it, and my wife's birthday is July 23rd lol.

here is the link for buy 10lbs get 10lbs for free.
Approximately 20+ lbs (Live lobster 1.24-1.48 lbs.) Live Maine lobster is hand-caught off the coast of Maine. comes down to $7.75/lb
https://lobster207.com/product/bu...-day-sale/

there is another option you can buy 5 lobsters and get 5 for free, and they appear to be a bit smaller (1-1.23 lbs). price coms down to around $9/lb

If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Assuming that you like eating the eggs if the lobster is pregnant? But, I guess that might be a little less strange.
the eggs and the tomalley are the BEST parts of the lobster! Smilie a lot of people are afraid of the stuff... it's their loss.. Frown

There was a restaurant in Waikiki that made the mistake of offering all you can eat lobster for $40 when I was there one time.

They sure tasted great after boogie boarding on the North Shore all day long. I think the management was starting to get a little mad after we'd been there 2-1/2 hours.

I'm pretty sure you got the letter B & M mixed up. There is no way no how it's billion pounds.
Agree. The annual harvest of Maine lobsters in 2018 was 120 million lbs worth $484 according to the Bangor Daily News. This year one of the major buyer of Maine and Canadian lobsters is out of commission -- the cruise lines. nod So I would expect the price to remain unusually low for the rest of this year.

I mean i've thrown hundreds of Lobsters in a boiling pot of water throughout my life... some do scream.

The more humane way, assuming that you ignore the fact that you are eating something alive, is to kill it before throwing it in the water.

This is normally a big chef knife through the head/brain. That part is not something that you will eat anyway.
Do you actually know this? Or, are you just making an assumption? There are lots of info on lobster's brain structure online that contradicts what you are saying. I'll quote just one of them as an example:
Quote :
The main part of the brain of a lobster is located near the front end of the animal and it is connected to the eyes and the antennae. However, the lobster's brain operates from not one but several spots known as "ganglia" (plural of ganglion). In crustacean anatomy, a ganglion is a localized tissue mass that is part of the animal's nervous system. Lobsters only have about a hundred thousand neurons organized in 12 ganglia running from its brain down the length of its body towards the tail.
It is not possible to kill a lobster by destroying only the frontal brain; to kill a lobster quickly all the ganglia must be destroyed. That is the reason to kill them by immersing the whole animal in boiling water. A brief period of freezing is recommended, however, to reduce the pain and make the killing of the lobster more humane.

OK. I'm not trying to pick on you, but the more I read your posts, the more apparent that you don't know what you are talking about. The other poster isn't kidding. It's true that the brain is the best part. This is true for crabs and certain shrimps as well. They are often used for soup because they are very rich in taste/flavor.

Of course I don't really know that more than (some) religion says that when you die you go to heaven and others say you are reincarnated. I have not personally followed a scientific method to prove or disprove how or what happens. Not trying to be mean or misguide, but my intentions were to attempt to minimizing suffering before throwing in the pot.

I was told this by a few friends that are chefs and you see it on tv chef shows. But, I can definitely see your points on periods of freezing as that is how you supposedly euthanize a pup that cannot survive after birth.
