This is the RBK-842, not 852. Speed wise it's inferior

Only on the 2.4ghz radio (800vs1200mhz). So yeah. It is slower. But on the radio I care least about

Still too expensive for only 2 access points and not really enough speed increase over a good Wifi 5 mesh router or gaming router including the $300 TP-Link Gaming Router at Costco.

Is this worth it over the 753S (AX4200) which is a 3-pack for $50 more ($549 vs $499)? I ordered the 753S (3-pack, AX4200) when it came back in stock but hasn't shipped yet and am now debating whether it's better to pay $50 more for a AX6000 instead of AX4200? 45+ devices, 4,500 sq. ft. SFH, Fios gigabit fiber.

Ask over at the netgear community forum. From what I have seen, you should be fine with ax4200. Depends on your wall thickness, etc. do you have ANY wifi 6 clients (iphone 11 or latest Samsung?)

My work laptop (HP EliteBook) is Wi-Fi 6 but the rest are just AC and N.

Yup, I checked three Costco's near me and none of them have it in the warehouse.

Debating whether to cancel the order (since it hasn't even shipped yet) and go for the 842 (AX5700) which is a 2-pack for $50 more.

Just grabbed the AX5700 2 pack for 550. Upgrading from a 6 year old single TP Link ac1750.

It worked fine for that time and still does, but have 1300 sq foot main level and now also a 1300 sq foot finished basement. TP Link struggled to cover a couple rooms in the basement (theater room and a bedroom). Decided I wanted a mesh system and if I was spending that money, no sense in going half-ass and sticking with wifi 5 at this point and be kicking myself in another 2-3 years.

Excited to see the performance bump! Also, June is still 5% cashback at costco for Discover, if anyone's on the fence.

Thanks for the feedback on the AX5700 Orbi's. I actually cancelled my order for the 3-pack RBK753S-100NAS (that was mentioned in another thread) as hadn't shipped and was debating between ordering this AX5700 2 pack for $550 or moving up to the AX6000 versions of the Orbi; RBK852 for 2 pack, or RBK853 for 3 pack. Netgear has a 10% off from their website and the stock seems to come in and out.

I am also in the market for a new mesh network
upon research it looks like all Orbi wifi 6 system struggles with features already on the previous generation
one thing that i am not clear is dual SSID, I have many devices using 2.4Ghz and looks like these wifi6 only have one SSID to cover both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz

I am actually looking into Orbi pro now, it may be AC but allows me to have 3 SSID

if anyone can help confirm if future FW releases will fix all AX series, then i might lean towards it

Couldn't find anywhere confirming that specific feature for the ax5700 model but quite a few walkthroughs on how to do it for Orbi models in general. Can't do it via the app. Have to use telnet to the web console etc. I'm guessing it will work the same on this model.

I bought the first NetGear AX (AX8) and it is nothing but trouble. Unreliable. When it works, pretty fast. But I can be 6 feet from it, line of site and my phone will not connect to it. Costco has a 4-pack mesh linksys for $399 I might jump ship. my Original Nighthawk r7000 was king of the hill for years. still have it and use it as AP
