this is the crappy version , this laptop overheats https://youtu.be/ZRDUR-rPGsM
so weird.. because youtubers have shown the 1650 and 1660 models with better thermals. and its essential same laptop.. heck, those models have less heatsink pipes.. yet perform better in thermals.. strange..

A 2060 is fairly good at 1080p. U could take advantage of something faster than 60hz. Some of these computers u can upgrade screen fairly easily.

i just laugh when i see the knowledgeable hard core gamers bashing cause it doesnt have a 144Hz screen, i have yet to see a hardcore gamer consistently game on a 15-16 inch screen.... LoL ... realistically speaking if you are more serious you will get a bit more ram to make atleast 16gb ram with a nice sized external monitor where you can actually see better and you are in business. 144hz on a laptop screen is seriously over rated Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

To focus on the laptop itself, its actually a good deal and these Ryzens i heard actually handle heat very well as it will self adjust the clocks accoridngly, the fan can litterly break and it will still run, just at lower clocks, someone has already ran the tests. Dont know how good the cooling is on this in the long haul since its so new but other than that and the memory its a very very very good laptop. the GPU out performs the comparable Intel I7 and the mobile version Nvidia 1060 and even 1070 in some cases.laugh out loud

I couldn't agree more. 144hz on 15inch monitor is still a trash experience. And external high refresh rate monitor is a must for gamer. Plus connecting to external monitor will boost performance by a good margin under current iGPU dGPU setup.

1. An external monitor defeats the purpose of portability
2. Ever gamed on a 15" 60Hz monitor and then immediately gamed on a 15" 144Hz monitor? I have and holy new experience, Batman

You usually don't want to edit videos on a display that can't display 100% srgb. This is probably only around 40-60%.

Just got mine shipped to me today. Its a fantastic laptop and the screen performs wonderfully. I really don't think you can find this much performance for this little cost. I am a happy owner.

If I had bought the 4600h and 1650 and after a few years someone offered to upgrade my rig to a 4800 and 2060 for $500 I would probably do it. Hell I'd pay 300 just to upgrade to a 2060.

In for one as a photoshop editing rig to replace my aging 2012 MacBook. Probably going to use a knockoff cinitq for color work (unless there are sub $200 4k TVs that have decent color gamut), but even a relatively mediocre screen can cut it for most retouching and basic tweaks.

Anyone find any decent cases that can make these look less "gamer"? Due to past experience, I'd like to find a way to make it blend in more if I'm working on something at Starbucks or wherever.

Edit: Not trolling gamers, I play games. Literally had this deranged old lady pull the most obtuse routine ever trying to shame me for using a gaming laptop in a Starbucks once...I was also editing photos from a shoot and not gaming at all lmao
