Ridgid 12-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/4 in. Cordless Palm Impact Screwdriver Kit, $64, YMMV

Home Depot has the 12-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/4 in. Cordless Palm Impact Screwdriver Kit, which includes one 1.5 Ah battery and charger, on clearance for $64 in-store. Online price is currently $79, in-store is $99.

Brickseek shows almost all stores in my area having them in stock on clearance, but no price is shown. HD website shows zero in stock for local pickup, but I put eyes on them in my store this morning.

Madison East (WI) had about 12-14 on the Clearance end cap. It was $64 or $69 and came with a 1.5ah or 2.0ah battery. If it was 18v I would have bit. I didn't think there was anything in the 12v arena for Ridgid other than drill, impact, and multitool, but I guess this was #4 and appears to be on the way out if they were clearancing them all.

I have been thinking about getting a right angle screwdriver, would this be small enough to serve that purpose? If it's actually an impact, that seems more useful than a pure right angle driver only.

I honestly can't think of an application I would use it for that I couldn't use a right angle driver. That being did, I've never researched their benefits, and probably won't, as I don't need an excuse to buy any more tools.

Hey, I actually own both a palm and a right angle. The palm is really useful when driving in pocket hole screws as some areas can get pretty cramped. It's also very comfortable and there is less fatigue when driving a large number of fasteners.

I will say, however, that it is not necessary but it is convenient.

First off, I must say "way to go!" on your first post being a very helpful and enlightening one. Applause

Second, I now have a "reason" to buy another tool. Thank you!

Same. Absolutely not necessary but it's decent. Super loud when impacting though...
