So you pour beer into it, then pour the beer out of it?

Actually was at a tap house that had these (minus the ice rod)... was pretty cool to serve a few beers to multiple people. IMO, this is more for a conversation piece or at a BBQ table or something.

Yeah, this seems kinda silly since you also have to drink the beer relatively quickly before it starts going flat. I can see this more as a gimmick for bars, as mentioned, since it saves them pour time from the tap, and several people pour their own beers off of it. At home you're likely just opening individual beers and taking the time to empty them in.

If you're interested in something like this, I'd recommend making the $120 investment into a growler with a tap which can be sealed and pressurized with CO2 carts. Especially if you live somewhere local breweries can fill up such a growler for you.

Could you go into more detail about the growler with tap? How does that system work?

Gimmic .....cleaning a tap system is not fun after a night of drinking.

Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Pressurize...B07DQ7CLKP

They have larger versions, vacuum insulated versions, etc. If you need even more beer storage, you can just buy a 2.5 or 5 gallon keg like this https://www.morebeer.com/products...-pack.html either as a kit like that, or you can attach something like this https://www.homebrewing.org/Keg-F...p_909.html (or a similar set up with a better faucet) to any standard ball lock keg.

It may be more difficult to find breweries that will fill up something larger than a 64oz growler for you, and indeed some places may require a more standard growler, or only fill up growlers they've sold (this can also depend on state law), so if that's something you're wanting to do, contact your local breweries first to see what they'll fill. Alternately, just get into home brewing.
