If the 5gb plan was $180 it would be worth switching from mint, otherwise, meh...
I could be wrong, but these shutdowns may not affect the throttled speed. Yes, you can still connect to "LTE speed" after your monthly LTE allotment is used up, but your speed is still throttled to 2G-like speed.
it could have just been the signal coverage in your area. I have been on red pocket for 2 years with zero issues.

Really thinking about getting a sprint lg g8, because of tello, and generally the phone is cheaper.
But then I remember when I had ring plus, across three different phones. Not sure if it was bad service area with sprint, or ring plus. - I couldn't understand people.
Anyways glad to see red pocket deals,. Just wish eBay didn't charge tax on things they are not required to, especially food items!

anyone know if you use up all the 4g LTE data for the month, does it knock it back down to 3g or do you get no internet at all?

2g speed, not 3g.

Red Pocket now has kiosks in some Target stores, including my local one. Will Red Pocket price match the Ebay price in store or is this online only?

Anyone know which towers they use?

edit: seems you can choose which carriers towers to use. anyone tried this service and liked it? I'd pick Verizon where I'm at (SE Michigan)

I've had the 15GB (now 20GB) on GSMA (AT&T) for half a year now and I've been very happy with it. I switched from Cricket Wireless because I got tired of the bandwidth limit.

The FAQ at Red Pocket shows they allow tethering. Would the full 20 GBs be available for tethering with no additional charges? Looking for a plan to use a Moto G6 phone as a hotspot with as much data as possible (we live in a rural area with very limited internet options and work from home with Teams meetings is using lots of data - kids school needs will only increase the usage). Thanks!

Anyone used GSMA on Red Pocket for many years? I was on the 5GB plan 2018-2019 and it felt just as good as AT&T postpaid (i.e. no deprioritization). Tried Mint but the deprioritization and unreliable data connection made me desperate so I ponied up for AT&T prepaid 8GB + rollover for $25/mo. Would rather just pay $25/mo for 20GB.

Do they still have a 90-day allowance to activate the SIM? My AT&T plan ends 10/14, so I'd lose a month of AT&T but that's only $2/month spread over the life of a new yearly plan.

2G & 3G is being shutdown this year for Verizon and 2G on T-Mobile. AT&T ended 2G in 2017.

When I emailed RP a couple weeks ago they said you still have 90 days from the ORDER DATE to activate. HTH

Same experience with Mint... signal strength and deprioritization made it difficult to use them long-term.
