We have this unit that we bought last year. It has not been too hot here yet, but we have used it a few times since we have been working at home. Still going strong after two years.

Edit: just noticed this was the smart version, we have the "dumb" version, so no Alexa/WiFi controls.

PROS:
The setup is very easy, attach the hose into the unit, attach it to the window adapter that is held into the window frame. Plug in the drain tub and point the drain tube into a bucket or bowl.

It definitely cools our bedroom (roughly 250sqft) about a 3-4 degrees difference according to our ecobee. However if you have it pointed in your direction, it feels at least 10 degrees cooler.

It can also operate as a fan, which is nice when you just want some air moves around.

The filters are easily accessible and easily cleaned.

CONS:
I was never able to get the timer to work. I would set a timer and once the time was up, it just kept on running.

It is fairly loud, if you have this running while watching TV, you will definitely need to turn up the volume a few notches. While sleeping with it on, doesn't bother us as it's similar to a white noise machine.

The remote does not always seem to work. You press on a button on the remote, and you'll hear the confirmation beep from the unit, but nothing will happen. But I'd say this happens only 10% of the time.

This sucker is heavy, if you need to carry it upstairs, don't do it solo. It does have handles on the side to make it a bit easier if you did have to lug it up the stairs.

Do you think this would work in about at 200sq ft uninsulated metal shed? I'm just trying to make it usable for shortish periods in the summer. Am in SE louisiana so it is totally unusable in the summer otherwise.

As an owner of a single and dual hose unit, pay the extra money and buy a dual hose system. Way less energy wasted and cools much faster.

The clip $40 coupon only shows up for the larger 350 Sq. ft. 8,200 BTU AC unit. It's $469 before coupon and seems a better deal. However, the coupon code for the $60 off doesn't work.

No coupon for me either. Was ready to pull the trigger along with the warranty but not unless those discounts kick in.

Have had the single hose unit in the past I went with a dual hose this time, seems like it works much better fwiw more efficient and less noise.
Spent $140 more for the whynter elite one that is 12k btu worth it in my opinion.

Please post if you find one. A lot of people say, "Just spend a little more on a dual-hose unit.', and I'd like to do that. The problem is, I can't find one that's "a little" more. The only ones I see are $479 - $600, and the reviews aren't that amazing

As someone who just tried to cool an insulated shed with one of these (different brand): no. The problem is that single hose portable A/C units exhaust air out of the building, which creates a vacuum, which pulls in exterior air. This is fine-ish if it's in a building with central A/C, since "exterior air" is conditioned air from a different room. In an outbuilding though, it's exhausting slightly-conditioned air and pulling in hot outdoor air. When it's blowing right on you it will feel cool, maybe that's enough for your use case, but it won't lower the overall temperature much.

I ended up replacing the $300 portable A/C with a $150 window A/C. Much better.

To clarify, I'm in climate zone 4. Summer so far has been 90ºF and 65%+ humidity. You're in climate zone 2; I'm not sure how to compare the two. If things are less extreme there, the portable unit may be able to overcome its inefficiencies and have a positive effect. But a window unit will still be cheaper to buy and operate.
