Le Creuset 4.5 Dutch Oven at Local Outlets $151 Free Shipping

Le Creuset Outlets are having a sale on the 4.5 qt round Dutch oven for $151 in Cerise with black knob and a special limited edition Mickey Mouse cerise colored 4.5 qt for $175 with the stainless knob. To get offer, call or email your local outlet store and ask for pricing and availability. I was specifically looking for the 4.5 and that was all I inquired about, but if you want another size, I would ask about those. I got the Mickey Mouse 4.5 qt by emailing and then ordering on the phone at the Woodbury Commons location in New York. They are shipping for free. I just got mines yesterday via UPS plus a free gift with purchase. YMMV.

What are the major differences between Lodge and Le Creuset? The Lodge 4.5 Dutch Oven is half the price given standard pricing (https://www.lodgemfg.com/product/...u=EC4D001C).
Lodge quality is not as consistent and durable. I got a lodge ECI on prime day a few years ago, and within a year of light-moderate use with no metal tools, it started to show wear on the enamel. My LC ECI has not shown any wear with more usage over the past 2 years.

Feed your kid some heavy metals and let me know.
Or you could feed yours from this cookware and let us know when nothing happens.

These make great gifts to those who would appreciate it. I've owned the brand and personally don't like it only because I'm always worried about damaging the expensive cookware.
It takes a lot to damage these things. I've only once seen a LC dutch oven break once when my MIL dropped hers about a week after being gifted one from us onto hardened porcelain tile floor (she didn't realize how much heat it would retain post cooking). She took it back to the outlet (Gilroy) and they actually swapped it out for free.

From a cooking performance perspective, they should perform similarly. LC (and Staub for that matter) is made in France, not China, and is more durable (i.e. chip/crack resistant) it's also a more classic look. Whether it's worth the price difference is subjective, but LC pretty consistently wins comparisons on The Wirecutter [nytimes.com], Cook's Illustrated [cooksillustrated.com], etc. This isn't to say Lodge (or Cusinart, etc.) are bad especially for the price.

After that test, I no longer used any Le Crueset made in China (which are all the ceramic ones).
Heavy metals aside, I personally don't bother with the items they don't make in France as they're really no different than any other generic brand made in China (in probably the same factory).

Called westbury common as well and got one, they didn't have any of the red in that price but they had a floor model that was 50% off, they found one in the box for me so I just bit the bullet and order it, should be here by Monday! Thanks OP!

I don't have children, but thank you for being rude anyways. I spent my time to read your blog post but didn't see what the health risks are associated with your findings. If you don't know, that's fine. I'm merely trying to make an informed decision.

Pretty good deal, similar price as the Staub I bought, but Le Creuset normally has better value and price in my personal opinion.

The LC clearance store in Flemington NJ is closing permanently next Thursday, the store is 50% off. They do have the Mickey Mouse Dutch oven for $175, but they do not ship and do not have gift with purchase.
That's a shame! Very little these days at the Flemington outlets.

Is the 50% off their reduced prices or regular LC prices?

How do you guys clean the interior? I only use sponge, so mine has stain stuck on. I am afraid to use steel brushes.

What's the difference between this and other ovens that are like half the price?
