This is a great deal for those who have a lot of kids and need backpacks.

High Sierra also has other backpack models, subject to the deep discount and free shipping.
Also, first time users can get a *stackable 20% off code.
I got the Pinova, marked down from $60 to $24 + FS.
Also, the Zestar and Fatboy models are subject to this SD.
- this is my first High Sierra order, so I cannot vouch to their quality of product. Reviews are good but bad reviews cite durability and size concerns.

*When you first visit the website (https://shop.highsierra.com), a pop-up offer comes up. Enter an email and a code appears at the top of the screen. Copy it (paste it in another file, so you don't lose it).

I forgot to apply this 20%. To test stacking, I put in my work email, got a code, did the same order and it stacks. Took ~$5 off, taking my total under $20. So, then I called customer service, no more than 5 mins after submitting my original order. YMMV, I think I got a noob cs rep. I told her I forgot to apply the code. After being on hold for a while, she got back on & babbled some excuse that this is a deal, where the 20% off does not apply. I didn't bring up that it worked for me, in my testing. But, I did ask to cancel the order. She said it can't be done cause it's already processed. My only recourse is to return the bag, and get a refund, etc.
Based on this customer service experience, I didn't want to argue that the 20% shoud apply (maybe it's a glitch), nor redo the purchase and get two bags, returning the first. Too much headache to save $5. I pray this bag is big enough for my middle schooler because this customer service experience already reflects bad future experiences. Buyer beware.

tl;dr - Get the 20% first time visitor code. It does stack on the backpack I ordered (Pinova model).

The internal dimensions for this backpack are 18.5" x 12.5" x 8.5".. I checked the dimensions on some Jansport backpacks, just because that's what i think of when i think of standard school backpacks.. They were around the same. Several I looked at were 18" x 13" x 8.5".

So I had to do some googling cuz a lot of times, backpacks are shown in Litres for volume.
Here's the breakdown of the others:
Pinova
18.5" x 12.5" x 8.5" (32L)

Zestar
19" x 13" x 7" (28 L)

Fatboy
19.5" x 13" x 7" (29L)

I read a bunch of reviews because I was surprised how many books/binders my 6th grader was coming home with (her current backpack was a Jansport, but I don't recall the dimensions). Weight capacity and construction quality were big items for me to look for.

There are complaints of size, skimpiness, and stitching. Problem with most reviews were that they were so vague. Like "not big enough" but wouldn't say what they put in it, for an idea of sample size.

If I had to GUESS, these are probably more appropriate for elem/middle school.
There is a size bigger than Pinova, but it's a laptop backpack (so that might be a good target for HS/Coll) but it's like only 1L bigger, if I recall. I believe it ran $30.

I've been buying these for my kids the past several years with matching lunchboxes. The kids love the designs and the pricing is always great. The backpacks hold up well to the year of school use. I'll definitely be ordering two more tonight for their next school year.

Are you saying that they last only a year? Or that they last past that, but you're happy to upgrade yearly?

My niece's didn't even last the school year. I have a higher end one, they don't make anymore and it's wonderful! Had it about 3 years.

To be fair, my daughter's school year didn't even last the school year.

Nah, they last way longer. I just buy them a new one every year because they get excited about them and they are so cost effective.
