Got these last time. They work well for devices that pull up to 45W charging.

Above that, this charger gets really uncomfortably scorching hot - hot enough to scald skin when picked up and held for more than a few seconds.

It might be to be expected because it's such a compact charger. And I didn't have issues otherwise. But it's beyond my comfort zone so I don't use it to charge laptops.

Thinking of getting their 90W version but after hearing this from you making me wonder what 90W will be like.... EEK!

Hmm, I don't feel like I've experienced this when charging a 60W Macbook Pro and touching the charger, but I'll have to try it again. I did hook it up to a Kill-A-Watt to make sure it's actually drawing 60W, which it does when my Macbook is lower on charge.

Have you contacted RAVPower for that? You might have got a bad unit. I went through Amazon reviews and only saw a handful of users complaining about this issue.

I did, they opted to refund and not replace the unit. Keep in mind I got a refurb item just like what's being offered here so there is probably some variability in what you might receive. Just something to think about if you don't want to risk a safety issue by purchasing this refurb.

Yup I ordered 2 of these and one came in original packaging while the other just came in a ziplok bag.
