The price is raised to $29/10pcs, maybe due to SD effect and/or use of free shipping code

Just read a news release when I was trying to find some product info:

June 16th, 2020

Guangzhou Powecom Labor Insurance Supplies Co., Ltd appoints www.bonafidemasks.com , a division of Ball Chain Mfg. Co., Inc. as the new premier distributor for our FDA Authorized KN95 mask products in the USA.

FDA Appendix A: Authorized Imported, Non-NIOSH Approved Respirators Manufactured in China (Updated: June 17, 2020) [fda.gov]

The unit price isn't cheap: $2.4 each and shipping fee is kind of high: around $14 per order via UPS ground, although you can order more to cut down both unit price and shipping cost per unit.

However, this may be the first time we know we can get a quality KN95 on FDA authorization list from a trustful vendor which is endorsed by manufacturer.

Disclaimer: I am not associated with Powecom or its distributors. I am providing the aforementioned and forthcoming information based on online research, in order to help people who may need quality masks during current pandemic. I am not responsible for the accuracy of information and quality of Powecome's product. Please make purchase decision based on your own situation.

Free shipping thru 7/19

From Bona Fide Mask:

DUE TO AN INCREASE IN COVID-19 CASES WE ARE NOW OFFERING FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING ON ALL KN95 FDA AUTHORIZED MASK ORDERS THRU 7/19/20! ALL ORDERS SHIP FROM OUR WAREHOUSE IN NEW YORK!

Seems pre-order is not included.

Headband style now available for pre-order on Bonafide's site. It says shipping 7/16. Slightly higher price vs the ear loop versions.
Quote from elsiesemail
:
If you order just one of the headband style 10 pack, lowest cost shipping is USPS for $5.00. Freeship code does not work. However, if you add the earloop style to your cart as well as the headband style, freeship code does work.

Hey guys don't want to burst your bubble, however, what you are talking about is not a filtration test, but one that has been propagated by social media. You have sadly been misinformed. The only actual liquid barrier test that is performed on respirator masks is for a small classification known as Surgical N95's, which are considered medical devices by the FDA. Also, liquid barrier protection is rated by ASTM and not NIOSH. Your standard N95 from 3m or Honeywell is not designed for liquid barrier protection and the ability of it to hold water has zero impact on filtration. I emailed Powecom after seeing some of these posts just to be sure and recieved the following back:

IT IS NOT scientific to test qualified KN95 masks by pouring water into them. The dripping test is just a rumor. Firstly, water will destroy the protection ability of the melt blown filtering layer, that means: Water will destroy the effectiveness of the face mask; Secondly, too much water has weight (universal force[Laugh]) , so too much water will drip. Also, : The first layer of nonwoven material can let O2 (= oxygen ) pass through the face mask. That is why, the 1st Layer of face mask cannot 100% block water, especially when there is too much (for example, a cup of Water , too much water !!) pour in the face mask. This is not a scientific test and should not be used. Below are links from actual testing reports from the NPPTL that may be helpful

Guangzhou Powecom Labor Insurance Supplies Co., Ltd.KN95GB262699.5698.182020-303.1pdf icon [cdc.gov]

Just want to make sure you guys have all the information. N95's are not for liquid barrier protection and neither are KN95's. The only liquid barrier protection masks are real ASTM surgical masks and Surgical N95's, which right now should be reserved ONLY for healthcare professionals.

Statement for the Medical Device Respirator recalls in Canada
Guangzhou Powecom Labor Insurance Supplies Co., Ltd hereby declare that the following two importers are not our purchasers. We have not found any information about the relevant companies in the sales records. Our company has an export license. All exports in our company's name are genuine.
There are many fake products on the market. The products that fail to pass the inspection in Canada are not exported by our company. Obviously these are fake.
Our main task in February, March and April is to provide the Chinese government with a large number of high-quality and qualified masks. We've been on the EUA list since April 3 . In fact ,CDC has always tested the quality of all respirators,in order to ensure that all the respirators imported to the United States are safe and up to standard. The following four test reports were issued by NPPTL and can be read on CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/R...SULTS.HTML

Government of Canada has issued a RECALL on these products.
Health Canada has determined that certain respirators that do not meet performance standards may pose a health and safety risk to users when used in a setting that requires 95% filtration (such as a health care settings).

My order just arrived from Bonafide. Manuf. date 6/2/20, QC code on the back scratches off (redirects to wechat?) but everything looks legit to me. Cut one up, has 5 layers. Before that, confirmed it didn't let any water in from the outside (I flipped it inside out and filled it with water). Ear loops result in a pretty snug fit around my face.

Per a reddit thread from Bonafide, they are looking to have headband style in stock next week:

Thanks for posting. Can you post a picture of the 5 layers?

The masks I purchased from NE Hydro and Back to Normal also had 5 layers (outer, two meltblown, hot air cotton, and inner layer).

When did you buy those from NE Hydroponics? Because what they have pictured on their site right now is this:
Ordered 6/11 and received 6/15.

Thanks for sharing. How's your experience w/ headband? pros and cons compared to earloops? I heard it could get tighter fit/seal than earloops but not sure if it's comparable to N95.
The headband-style Powecoms do feel like they fit/seal a bit better, but they're harder to take off. I actually prefer the ear loop ones for more casual use and would like to experiment with ear savers.

That's not a disclaimer, it's a disclosure LOL. A disclaimer denies responsibility.

Not that anyone cares...

good catch. I was trying to write disclaimer but ended up more like disclosure. Guess I'm too frugal to hire a lawyer to write one. Smilie

I just received my shipment of Powecom masks from Bonafide Masks - unfortunately the receipt inside is for someone else's order. I ordered 50 masks, and received only 30 and the address information for someone else! I sent the company an email, hopefully they will correct the problem.

Just an update, I submitted a request through the website to say I only got 30 masks when I paid for 50, and in less than an hour I had a call back from the owner of the company and an email saying they will be shipping out the rest of the order tomorrow. Really quick and painless customer service!

Got shipment today. They are different than original Powecom I got from Best Vape in that the packaging and stamp on the mask are in English. Original was in Chinese. Can't really comment except obviously from a different batch.

just got my powercon KN95 and they feel like kid size. I held it up to the similar mask from Supply Aid and Powercon noticeably smaller. Bad idea to cut corners on safety, I thinks I was power conned.

I have two different lots of Powecom masks. These are definitely tighter than the older ones I have. But that be a good thing, tighter seal = better protection

I have old batch Powecom, which is looser and larger than new one. It's hard to achieve and maintain tight seal with old one without helps from ear-saver and nose cusion. I think new Powecom apparently improves the fit, but it's still not as tight as Harley and 3M's KN95.

I was being a bit sarcastic with the puns. I just tried it on and yes, it may be a bit better seal then big ones. I have some N95 like style and then do seem big and loose with the ear loops. I may add a Velcro strap if needed. I have quite the assortment now. There might be another shortage if every state starts adopting mask rules.

What kind of nose cushion are you referring to?
